Anyway, I like Bloody High Claw more. It does a lot more damage (especially without your mask on)
HOWEVER I don’t use it unless I’m just screwing around because Splendid Claw has I-frames which will make people respect your wakeup more. When I fight another Vega and I see that they are using bloody high claw, then that means I can apply pressure for free all day any day. I guess it’s really matchup dependent though.
The bottom line is, though Bloody High Claw is one of the most damaging ultras in the game, Splendid Claw has more uses and in my opinion easier to land.
EDIT: More power to you if you can punish a reckless jump with Bloody High Claw on reaction.
i still think U1 is easier to land on everyone that doesnt have a dive kick or isnt blanka

Then you are using it wrong.
I was using U1 a lot more on AE, but recently returned to U2 for the most part.
the funny thing about the U2 nerf is that it’s made me rely on ultras FAR LESS than what i did in the past. I’ve come to use U2 simply to escape pressure from some characters that can’t punish it well from full screen. they jump in for a cross up and i intentionally use it early so i can pass underneath them and have some breathing room. sad isn’t it?
i really miss the SSF4 U2…
