BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT aka the Spiritual successor of Symphony of the Night

So about the First Boss Fight, possible spoilers below

Summary

So that first boss, the Sea-monster lady.

Took me several times to beat here

I ended up grinding out a extra level to Lv 6, switching out gear so I am wearing a Pirate hat, torn scarf and have the Claymore Equiped and the shard that gives me the Iron flail attack.

I beat that bitch so fast, she didnt have time to summon her minions.

That…is slightly worrying.

Nah. I already redeemed it.

Also TRIPLE ARROW BEST SPELL.

I beat the first boss on my second try.

The first batch of side quests have some fun Easter eggs.

Summary

All the people I’m avenging for Lindsay happen to be named after Castlevania characters. Damn you Konami!

Steam community forums were a mistake.

Looks like trolling to me. But yeah, spend any amount of time reading steam reviews or forums and you’ll find a remarkably high rate of petty, ultra entitled crybabies. Any miniscule little option missing, DLC, or performance issue will invariably be viewed by at least a couple people as a personal affront to their sensibilities and a reason to swear off the publisher and steam itself. It’s crawling with Po clones (even worse, in many cases) in full post MML3 cancellation rage mode.

Some of the reviews I’ve read say the game is pretty easy.

If you’re looking at an Igavania for hard difficulty, then you probably arent well versed in the type of games he likes making.

Its a weird critique to make of his games since SoTN wasnt exactly hard.

Order of ecclesia was the last Castlevania he produced and that was a difficult game.

Yeah none of his games that I’ve played besides Order Of ecclesia were difficult

There are higher difficulties to unlock, wondering what kind of contrast those will have.

Miriam will strike poses if you hold up on the d-pad while idle.

Shovel Knight is a common enemy in this game. That’s a pleasant surprise.

SoTN is easy to be Brokenly over powered if you know what you are doing.

Two Crissagrims or the right shield combo with the Shield Staff makes you too powerful

We have been investigating a PS4/Xbox One issue that is blocking player progress in the game. We apologize for this bug and thank you for your patience while we investigated.

The issue occurs when a new game is started before downloading the 1.02 update. After the update, treasure chests will appear in the incorrect open/closed state.

Without the items from these chests, progress is blocked.

Players affected by this bug will be required to restart the game with a new save in order to properly progress.

We investigated a number of options to address this issue and each fix requires a new game to be started. Despite our efforts to provide a fix that preserves pre-1.02 progress, this is the best solution to avoid future issues.

Xbox One players will also be affected by this when the update (1.00x on Xbox) is delivered next week. Switch players who will receive a physical copy should download the 1.02 patch before playing.

Thats unfortunate.

How is the game as far as fun goes?

The game is shamelessly a IGA Castlevania. If you played any of those games you know what you in for. The sheer amount of options at your disposal is great to play around with. I been switching up my loadouts to find the cheapest shit.

@Zazzarius

My PC doesn’t meet the min specs to run this either.

A PS4 is stronger than my PC.

:sob:
