BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT aka the Spiritual successor of Symphony of the Night

Yamane making orchestral music would sound exactly like the music you got in LOS.
I mean…LOS music was orchestrated versions of Yamane compositions. #datmindfuckLuLz

I liked the LOS music , but for Bloodstained i really hope the music could sound something like this :

Bullshit. Lords of Shadow’s music was turrible, and only a few tracks were remixes of classic stuff.

Yamane’s done orchestral before, and it sounds nothing like the crap in those games… Most importantly, it sounds like Castlevania, and not Hans Zimmer’s interpretation of Castlevania.

Ugh po I liked you better before you went The Miz type heel.

I’ll say this once and if we’re gonna argue over LoS we can do it in the dead castlevania thread.

LoS had a great soundtrack, yes there were a lot of new compositions but that doesn’t mean they were bad, it’s actually one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever listened to at length and I advise giving it a listen outside the game.

What I am personally hoping for is more along the lines of this.

Which is one of the best interpretations of a classic vidya game tune ever.

Yamane and Aotp collab for final stretch go plz

I’ll go shit on LoS music in the CV thread, but let me say this:

If you have to listen to an OST outside of the game to appreciate it, then it’s probably not doing its job.

LETS GO PSV PORT!

t worked really well for the games they came from to, but listening away from the game can give a new appreciation as well.

Honestly I hope PSV port happens. For a game like that it would be definitely be my preferred platform.

I was very interested when Iga mentioned the game would be based on the myth of the Key of Solomon. I wondered how far back the game would take place, Italian renaissance, for example. What the locales would be. But he said it would be in England in the industrial revolution, so I guess none of that is happening, and not that far back in history as in Castlevania.
So, I wonder how they are approaching the music for the game, probably trying to make something that does not resemble gothic castles and bats, right?

Los games have some good tracks, Po again you don’t know what your talking about.

  1. Orchestrating music isn’t the same as writing music for an orchestra. I suspect if this goal is reached, Yamane will conceive from the beginning how to best use the orchestra to display her vision.

  2. There is a talent to orchestrating music, and there are a million ways to do this. Many different instrument combinations, and balancing. Lord of Shadows is very uninspiring orchestration, bland, blunt and therefore the music suffers greatly.

PSV port needs to happen so the vita can stop being a fucking paperweight

I could go back and forth with Rondo and SotN. GIVE US EVERYTHING IGA!

Well, on the Vita, that’s a must-back for me. Looks great.

So not much time left. How many more stretch goals are gonna get hit? Vita looks like a lock any minute now counting separate Pay-Pal donations. I don’t think I’d be too shook up if orchestrated tracks didn’t get met.

4 Million: Online Race Mode (racing to beat a level/boss). May have Co-Op elements like Harmony of Despair with rare item drops.
4.25 Million: 3rd Playable Character
4.5 Million: Companion Pixel (8 or 16bit) Game. Size of game still being decided. Free to backers of a certain level (level not decided yet - might be at least $60 tier). Will likely be sold later to non-backers.
Secret Last Stretch Goal: It’s still a secret but is supposedly mind melting*

I’m not seeing that on the page. Where did you get that info?

when the games wip comes into fruition, I just hope the 2D style doesnt look as underwhelming as Mighty no.9’s does, in my judgement. I mean the game looks good and all so far, but the amount that was backed I feel as if there should pop out more like its concept images. But then again this is BloodStained, it should take a more serious look than a cartoonish one

Vita port is now funded
