Assuming you are 'murican. 24:th has always been set to be the releasedate over der.

I am not sure if i should cancel my preorder and just buy the digital version of the game.
I don’t want to wait to get my copy of the game, specially because it could be delayde due the holidays, but at the same time i want to have it on disc

Hopefully my usual spot ships early like always.

I’m contemplating going digital as well.

Not because I ordered the game online or something, but because I want the game literally the second it drops and I can’t seem to find a Game Stop holding a midnight release…

Buying retail games digitally makes me cringe as of late though. I’m trying to build my collection of physical discs and going digital at all only hurts that endeavor.

PHYSICAL ALL DAY

I don’t invest too much into the digital marketplace of any platform(PSN, Live, Wii Shop, Steam) because their policies are fucked up+I don’t get the strange satisfaction of owning the physical copy of the game. I look at my physical game collection and I think to myself ā€œFUCK YEAH!ā€ but then when I look at my digital library on PSN/Steam I have I think to myself ā€œwhelp…that’s some nice text of the digitally licensed games I own.ā€

I got the digital version myself as well. I am so ready to play that game ASAP.

I used to care about having physical stuff but it takes up so much space to have a bunch of disc games and I’m trying to limit the amount of physical things I own(I used to collect statues/figures but I sold like 95% of them) simply because I want to be able to be mobile in living situations. Plus there’s the fact that with games needing to be fully downloaded onto the console anyway, it doesn’t save space or anything either And when it comes to archiving for the long haul we’ll probably be able to easily afford several TB HDDs by the time the PS4 is unsupported, so you can just DL everything and store it all on your console by that time.

Edit: Also, not having to change discs is pretty damn nice. It’s small and certainly not a deciding factor, but it’s nice.

Edit: Even when it comes to bringing a game to a friend’s house, because of the fact that you have to DL the entire data anyway, it doesn’t actually save any time or anything to have a physical disc, you can just sign in on their system and DL it there. If they don’t have internet for some reason, might as well just bring the console since modern consoles only need the system, controller and 2 cables. It’s so simple nowadays.

I got my BB nightmare edition pre-ordered. I’m thinking i might wait a couple of years and then maybe sell it on ebay or something if i can get good money from it.
Might just keep it too depending on how cool i find the bell trinket to be.

That’s what I hate about current gen though. Every single game installs the ENTIRETY of itself to the hard drive, and a lot of these new games average at least 30 or 40 gigs a pop. In a way, it almost feels pointless going physical because it’s not even saving you any space. The disc essentially becomes a paperweight that you NEED to play a game that is already fully downloaded on your hard drive.

A terabyte should’ve been the minimum default system storage capacity, imo.

Yep, this bugs me too. With the lack of console exclusives, forced installs, huge patches, licensing fees and forced pay 2 play multiplayer I have a hard time justifying buying a next-gen console when 99% of games I want to play get released on PC as well.

I’m jelly of Bloodborne, though. B)

I would agree were it not for the fact that you can just delete and re-download games. Frankly, I have never switched between more than 3 games at any one length of time (including rentals/borrowing) and there is MORE than enough space to hold 15-20 games on the console as it is now. Personally I only use it for games too so I have no video, music, etc on my PS4, just games. So when I’m playing something I’ll keep it on and keep playing it until I want to move on a few months later. So if I want to play an older game I’ll just re-download it cause I’ll be playing it for the next few weeks to a month anyway so it’s not a big deal.

So if I was not amazed with the other Souls games, will I like this?

Not that I think they were bad games, the combat wasn’t my cup of tea, couldn’t really get into them

Well it’s faster, if that helps.

Helps alot actually. I wish there was a demo to really get a feel for it, but I’m sure one of my friends will Share Play it so I can give it a whirl

The combat is precisely what makes Bloodborne different from Souls.

Offensively based, and fast paced. As opposed to the defensive turtling a good portion of the Souls franchise presented. If your main gripe about Souls was the combat, I’d definitely at least give BB a chance.

Now is certainly the time to give the franchise another chance since they are changing combat pretty drastically.

I’m liking what I see from gameplay vids (which is what happened when I bought the first Dark Souls game)

I really want to enjoy Bloodborne tho cuz it looks fantastic

@HD-Man I will say that sometimes these games take a while to get into. I restarted Demon’s Souls 4 times, and Dark Souls 3 times before I finally really got into Dark Souls (and eventually went back to Demon’s Souls.) Like it took a while for everything to click and for me to find my groove, and to realize that the game truly does let me play the way I want to play. In Dark Souls you can play however you want so long as you do your build right. My first time through the game I played a huge tank and hid behind my shield the entire time. The second time I played a Ninja flippin bitch who used her shield for parrying and blocking light quick attacks.

These days I don’t use a shield at all and I play pretty aggressively. Even that Tank who hid behind a shield her first time through the game, hasn’t used a shield at all for around two NG+ cycles, and she’s on NG+4 now.

Hell you can even build a fast moving wizard/witch and Hadouken your way through the game throwin fireballs and soul arrows and shit. It really is one of those games that lets you play the way you want to play.

This. During my first play through of DeS I absolutely hated the first 4ish hours but as soon as I downed the Tower Knight something just clicked. Demon’s is now one of my top 5 of last gen.

yeah I had a rough time with Demon’s(I never actually finished it…) but when I first played Dark Souls was about to come out in a few months so I decided to buy it to get a fresh start. I liked the previous one already but I just got really bogged down by the learning curve at first. After taking that ā€œbreakā€ and starting with Dark Souls i really got into it.

Yeah, I remember dying in DeS a BUNCH of times in the first area. I 'd get relatively far and die off some gay ass trap, and just stop playing the game. I hated it. For years I seen people singing the game’s praises and I’m over here like ā€œFUCK DEMON’S SOULā€ and shit…until last year when I decided to give it one more chance. When I killed the Tower Knight, and then the Penetrator, it was a WRAP. You just get smarter, learn the nuances of combat, and just generally mold the character the way you want him/her to play. The game is amazing, and I’m glad I picked it back up…5 years after buying the imported version, lol.

I can’t WAIT for BB.
