Bloodborne thread

Holy shit I didn’t even know the Cleric beast everyone was talking about was in the first level.

I’m watching a stream and he’s on the top bridge, I can’t believe I missed that fog gate.

What does it drop?

I can’t remember it dropping anything. Did you already get the Red Brooch? It might drop that

I think I got that from on top of a tomb in the area where you fight Father Whats-his-face(the guy in that video I posted).

Says I can get an upgrade material from using it, but I read that some chick named Viola wants it for a quest.

I don’t know if she’s a useful NPC or not.

Yeah I don’t think we know how her quest ends yet. I used it before I knew that =(

There is no fog gate. There isn’t any fog gate when you encounter bosses for the first time.

How good is the upgrade from the item?

Finally saw the perpetrator of the glowing death orb things.

Also holy crap this game has way better variety environmentally than the initial experience leads you to think.

It’s ok, it’s a small damage boost and a small rally(orange health regain) boost. I don’t think the quest “uses up” the item though so probably just keep it for now.

Without spoiling it could someone guide me where to go next? I beat the boss in the woods, unless there is another cause the area is massive, and got to a point where it dead ends. I just got past the area with the shimmering pool of poison. I’m trying not to use a guide, but have been wandering for over an hour.

I haven’t played a horror game, if you consider this horror, but there has been so many moments when I come across something new where I just want to avoid it altogether.

Lol that’s what I love about this one, there’s always something crazy around the corner. Just when you think you got it, NOPE.

Anyway, I never went past that pool so I’m not sure but there is a path to continue in the forest itself. If you’re really that stuck just start hugging a wall. Or even try summoning help, unless you prefer to not do that.

I can’t use my summoning bell in the woods I guess because I beat the boss? The pool itself isn’t large, but I might check it again to see if I am missing anything.

been playing for about 10 hours now. been taking my time to explore as much as i can.
been busy with that sinister bell too !

I’m barely scratching the surface but i can already tell you right now that this game is the goat of goats.

I have seen horrors I did not expect to see.

Nothing is more infuriating in this game than hitting an enemy within a pixel of their health with a heavy attack and assuming they’ve died because their hitstun animation is the same as their death animation, and then they hit you and kill you because you let your guard down.

Gotta listen for the “kill” sound. There’s a sort of “CHING” when they die, if you don’t hear that, they ain’t dead.

I keep swinging just in case, usually. You get health back for hitting them even after they’ve died as long as your weapon is still making contact. So there’s really no loss.

The place I’m in is the Blighttown of Blighttown. But also without lanterns. I’m running out of items. Also this is the first place I encountered a naturally occurring Bell Maiden. There’s no way to leave without killing the boss I think.

Yeah there’s that too

Why does everyone I summon such dick at fighting the blood-starved beast?

Not mines, found it on reddit(no spoilers):

The undead giant in the 1st layer chalice dungeon

I finally made it out of that goddamn NIGHTMARE. I’m actually a little unsettled after being in there, like, seriously.

WELCOME TO DARKBORNE.

Wait, wut.

Yo that thing killed me 3 times. He really shouldn’t either, he’s not that hard. You just don’t expect him to do so much freakin damage.
