Ya’ll shouldn’t assume that a character can only cared about if you know their backstory and other stuff like that. Bleach does things right for the most part with its characters, and even better than stories that focus on fewer characters but are so boring and nothing exciting happens for long periods of time. Bleach is still among the top popular manga, and it doesn’t need to go shoulders deep into soap opera territory to have tons of characters that matter.
If you are bothered with how KT does things, make your own manga and learn how even your “ideal”, so called “perfect” manga will be criticized and picked apart by the masses that hate how you do things, how you design and plan things, and what you focus on. You’ll be criticized as much if not more than people authors like KT.
Anyways, awesome, the 5 war potentials are confirmed. 
With Urahara around, the plot armor is so OP. but considering how aware Askin is of the situation (the only Elite to have this much awareness and battle prowess) and what they are up against, could they be the “exception” that could overcome those odds? they do have yet to Volstandig.
