I’m not sure how people are saying these new abilities trump Hitsugaya. She hasn’t shown the range or shear scope that Hitsugaya has. Her abilities seem to be good for one on one but until we seem her bankai you can’t really place her above Captain level.
Also this guy probably isn’t even dead since he hasn’t gone into super Quincy form yet.
Everybody that met King Kai got a huge powerboost. It’s not surprising Rukia didn’t get one (although IMO she kind of shouldn’t get a boost in her shikai since she really didn’t have any learning difficulties before). Byakuya should get one too then, unless they just focused on his healing the whole time. How do you make him even more broken? Blades so small they are invisible. How the heck do you block an attack like that? You can’t. Imagine you breathing that in without knowing. Instant death.

pretty sure the 4 seconds only applies to the absolute zero temp she hit at her lowest. otherwise she might have had trouble to talk about her abilities the way she did, i would imagine she can hold the initial sub-zero body temp for as long as she wants.

This was the EXACT first thing I thought of when I finished the chapter.
I quickly thought this also lol. If that’s the case, Rukia easily too op for everyone. Though what if she just trained herself more to last longer than 4 seconds? Which in turn just makes you wonder how crazy her bankai could get if shikai’s full potential is basically Iceman.
Well Zero squad buff + plotkai buff right now I’d assume Renji/Rukia/Byakuya/Ichigo are levels ahead of the majority of the Captains save say Kenpachi and Shunsui. (or a healthy Ukitake.)

So Hitsugaya is now stuck in Mr. Freeze tier while Rukia just hit Omega level Iceman.
That is correct and if I remember correctly he tells the person the release of the bankai, which is the only requirement for bankai (I BELIEVE ccould be wrong). Which they get from training and there soul fusing with there sword by the sword speaking to the wielder.
I thought the sword had to acknowledge the user’s strength before it released its bankai, but because of Renji’s revelation I don’t know how true that is anymore.
Wrong. To achieve Bankai, one must be capable of drawing their Zanpakutou’s spirit into the real world i.e. the opposite of talking to their sword. Renji is shown doing this in SS arc when Zabimaru shows up in chimera form.
It does have to acknowledge it’s wielders strength, though. Though technically ready for his Bankai, Zabimaru thought Renji only deserved a baby’s Bankai, not a grown man’s Bankai.
This is exactly the same concept as Yumichika’s shikai - use the wrong name and you don’t get all the power.
Can someone find a reference to this so maybe we can clear this up?
