All i can think about after this chapter is how powerful the zero squad is. If you have sternritters smacking down captains and renji was nothing went he went for training, how do the royal guard compare to the sternritters. Is renji on royal guard level now? The shaolin monk guard has to be on absolute top tier level right?

well the thing is Renji was already captain status so i’m assuming he just got the harnessing he needed to really be strong. (storylinewise at least.) I can only assume his bankai got revamped considering he learned it around the same time Ichigo learned Quincy Bankai. So if anything, his bankai should be more refined to how it should be in 100 of years after obtaining his bankai. (assuming after picking up the new Asuchi and power level up with 0 squad). I still say Renji isn’t all THAT strong considering Sternritter Raiden was only OP cause of Raiden fanboy James keeping him from ever losing a match. Once they figured that out, his gimmick ended. Gotta see how he stands against an actual Quincy.
But it also makes me wonder how Byakuya will turn out when he appears.
