I hate to be pedantic buuut he used 1045 steel whereas Japanese blades are made of layered Japanese steel (yes, they’re different!) where upon which the steel is forged and layered with varying carbon content before it goes through differential quenching where the edge is made into martensitic grain structure and the rest is a mixture of pearlitic and something else.
But to do what he’s trying to do, it makes perfect sense because steel is quite expensive and blah blah blah… Real katanas are heavy as it is.

At least Bleach righted itself before it went into a descent it couldn’t come back from like Naruto. The quality nosedived in that manga so fucking quick and it continues to get worse.

Bitches, please. This manga still sucks. It’s never been the same since the Aizen arc. It’s been pretty formulaic. Ichigo gets into a problem, inner turmoil, get a power-up, win, relax, repeat. It’s been this way for years. The last moment where it was actually badass was when Captain-Commander Yamato broke out his bankai and finally revealed his shit is Game Shark broken.
I would give a nod to the healing woman on revealing her dissolving bankai, but it only appeared for a frame and was never really explained or used in any meaningful way. So suck my asshole, jerks.

Bleach nosed dived way harder than Naruto. It still has its moments, but really the main reason I’m still reading bleach is just so I can see the conclusion. If it wasn’t in it’s last arc I would have already given up on it.
