 The cool part about this post is that Kubo could blow that opinion up at any time at the rate he’s going, LOL.
Yachiru needs to at least make that TenTen cameo real quick so we can confirm liveliness.
Can someone hit us up with a roll call of all the named characters and where they are? Seems like right before this mess went down, people were scattered everywhere and I’ve definitely lost track.
Man I wish Rangiku would get a bankai. Back in the fake town battle I thought she’d whip one out when she opted to take on 3 fraccion at once. Turns out she just sucked. At this point, without some new trick she’s kinda useless.
That is clearly another sword, and while I think Unohana is confident in her abilities, it would be fucking retarded to come at Kenpachi with some random blade.
EDIT: So looking back, we never get a solid look at her sword, but in the anime, there is a pic of her sword and it looks similar, so whatever.
So far the only connection is that Kenpachi found her when she was a baby/toddler, he adopted her and give her the name of Yashiru, in honor to the only person he has admired/respected.
Wild Theory
Unohana was able to suppress her killer instinct by separating it from herself, that ki is the yashiru that we know, and now that she is a killer machine again, yashiru no longer exists
oh I didn’t know the admired respected thing. NVM makes sense now. He knew Unohana as Yachiru, respected her before he became captain and then met her again in SS or something like that
Minazuki always looked like that, that curve is unmistakable.
Kenpachi already knew of the existance of the Kenpachis thats why he chose that name. The original Kenpachi was named Yachiru, thats why he chose that name for Yachiru (did not know that at the time). The only thing is that no one reading the manga knew that BOTH of those names were known to Kenpachi because they were names for Unohana until about two months ago.
Yeah, that conversation about the uncontrollable throbbing is pretty vague, but it shouldn’t really matter since this should be a terrible matchup for Zaraki. She knows 1000 styles or whatever, while he just fights like a brawler. Maybe we’ll get a few pages of this fight, but the last panel should be him folded up on the ground. Captain Eye Patch and the Old Man have both basically said that his sword skills are strong, but they aren’t refined at all—like an uncoached Shaquille O’Neal. Old Man tried to coach Shaq and gave up, so now Captain Eye Patch is sending him to train with Hakeem Olajuwon, another big man with more finesse. Yep, I just referred to Unohana as Hakeem Olajuwon.
p.s. I think a requirement to be in the Soul Society leadership is to promise to abandon all of your common sense and do stupid shit. “Yeah, letting these two fight probably means that one of them will die, but shit’s chill. Greater good yo.”
Heh. Never thought I’d see Azrael post outside of the SSF4 forums again. I’m tempted to say “Kubo be praised”, but then I’d have to commit myself into an insane asylum.
So…basically you’re saying Unohana’s a Quincy.
Damn. How many people did Bach knock up?
Haha. Now that I think about it, that omake with Isane being called to by three Unohana for one of the filler episodes that someone posted about a month ago is probably a recurring nightmare she has since no matter what she does, she inevitably ends up pissing at least one of them off.
Heh. Poor girl.
Fixed because I honestly can’t believe you just implied that Renji was not jobber, especially when compared to Hisagi. Hisagi who both doesn’t have Bankai but has beaten more people than Renji canonically (two vs. one) and, unlike Renji, wasn’t a complete idiot during the Invasion, managing to hold out against a greater opponent until Old Man Genocide showed up.
After that, Renji’s maybe…sixth? on vice captain jobbing scale after Kira (with his broken-ass shikai; might be dead though) and Nanao & Nemu & Yachiru (since they’ve still never fought and thus never jobbed, Uryuu & Syazel things with Nemu aside), especially since Byakuya-bo apparently damaged his Bankai or whatever retcon-excuse Kubo’s using for his suckiness.
I wouldn’t hold my breath since this is the same Kubo who apparently decided there would be 100 chapters of “Turn Back the Pendulum”…only for us to get six of them.
Lol at someone not thinking/realizing that Renji’s a Butt Monkey.
shakes head
Poe’s Law really does apply to real life way too often.
Interesting chapter.
For a long time I thought zankaptou were something that was born within a shinigami soul, and I always found it weird how in its first appearance he would tell Ichigo “I am Zangetsu”, like Ichigo was supposed to know. But now it turns out shinigami are giving a blank sword and they fill it with the essence of their souls.
So, does the Japanese script really say that Yamammoto and his group were a band of “criminals”? I guess it was a tactical decision to keep Unohana away from battlefields in order to keep her impulses controlled.
