Story is so dope right now, I do like the lil bits of history we getting with every member of the royal guard. It shows just how crazy these guys are before they got promoted. Im expecting crazy stuff from Nimaiya since this dude came up with the Zanpaktou.
In my mind I just see a matrix scene with him just looking over various Zanpaks…Like does he know all of them? How did Aizen get his? just that history alone has me hyped. What would be cool is if he can control the actual forging like a blacksmith??

I don’t understand how the zanpakutos are created. I thought they just became once your spiritual body became something one must sustain. I didn’t know some dude had to make them.
Maybe he just came up w/ the concept of a zanpakuto.
Or he was the first to hear/find the spirit inside of his zanpakuto.

IIRC from what was explained on earliest chapters, all the shinigamis infuse their spirit on a sword to create a zanpakuto, all the shinigamis student’s and lesser level shinigamis have swords that don’t have an spirit residing on them.
I expected Kon to do his usual attempt at jumping into those breast and failing miserably.

It hasn’t been explained clearly. Isshin told Grand Fisher that if shinigamis didn’t actively manage their spiritual pressure their zanpakutos would be the size of skyscrapers. Some zanpakuto’s don’t even have names; they’re used by the lower shinigami scrubs. Or rather, they have names, it’s just that the wielder is too scrubby to communicate with it.
We also know that not everyone is capable of making their zanpakuto materialize in physical form. We’ve seen Renji do it, which is funny. And in Zaraki’s situation, he has a zanpakuto, doesn’t know its name, but is still a beast with it.
There’s a chicken and the egg scenario here. If the black Zero Division guy created zanpakutos, then what came first? Did his “helper spirit” just materialize one day and then he put it inside of a sword after the fact? Or, did he create a way to form his own spirit energy into a sword, and then that sword ended up containing a spirit within it? The latter seems to make more sense.
And once again, Urahara Kisuke with his sticky fingers in everything the Zero Division creates.

- Knows how to make artificial souls which were invented by Fat/Hot Hikifune.
- Black guy created zanpakutos? Creates a device which can forcibly cause the zanpakuto spirit to materialize.
Just watch, whatever the other two created to get in the Zero Division he’ll have tinkered with as well.

You are confusing some things here.
Being the strongest character doesn’t necesarily means that you would always win
Full Power Ichigo/Final Getsuga Ichigo is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay stronger than Aizen, he “lost” because Aizen has the ultimate haz power that wouldn’t let him die, and more importantly because he made the decision to gamble all his power on an attack that will make him powerless after its use to try to kill the unkillable.
Also Unohana already implied that Ichigo is stronger than every other captain, now every captain has hundreds if not thousands of years in combat experience plus they also have other abilities/techniques, so that give them enough edge to still be able to be competent fighters, but talking about pure power levels:
Full power Ichigo, Hogyoku Aizen, Yama are the strongest shinigamis. in that order
Unohana and the others are below them, but that doesn’t mean that they are not a threat.

Its fairly clear what got Urahara up there before I’m still not clear about Aizen though.
I’m still wondering if the next guy talks, he didn’t say anything for 3 chapters and Kubo made a point of having the person before him introduce him.
My Kon theory is still holding, It seems odd that no member of the royal guard would have noticed him or kicked him out when he decided to tag along.
If there is a fixed number of 5 members of The zero division I wonder if Urahara is only not in because they are full and he is next in line…and another part of me wonders if he just wanted to stay captains with benefits.
Speaking of which, has any captain besides Byakuya and maybe Isshin actually been in a relationship in this manga?
Nice chapter. Not surprised to see tig ole bitties. But I guess i’m not that impressed with hiki. At least not as much as scientist chick. Plus I guess we already have 2 overall better looking tig ole bitties to begin with. (Inoue and Matsumoto.)
