Ok I was reaching a bit saying the cold bitch stare is worst than that. I can just FEEEEEEL Ippo wanting to just dismember that fool in a timely manner.
Anyone else feel like after Unohana gives Kenpachi the ok, sheāll have the urge to fight again and then proceed to put Juha in his place.
Ok if Kenpachi is actually leveling up this manga is suddenly worth reading again.
Iām enjoying reading everybodyās posts. When I saw the below picture in chapter 520, something kind of told me the chapter would be about Unohana. People, imagine Unohanaās bankai being ANYTHING like the picture below:

There was some kind of canonical guide to the captains that Kubo wrote years ago with power levels for different categories and shit, and it had her stats pegged roughly equal to Yama and Aizen. I remember that being a head-scratcher at the time.
I was going make some snide remarks about Kyoraku being appointed man-in-charge instead of her when it had been hinted in a lot of ways that she was next in line, having been around longer than anyone else, acting as commander when Yama was out of commission, and both Kyoraku & Ukitake being deathly afraid of herā¦ and then that last page. Well played. What do you call the opposite of an ass pull?
Iām not in on the Kenpachi fan club like the rest of this thread, but that was still the best āpower upā this manga ever saw. Put me in stitches.
Unohana hasnāt been around longer than Kyoraku nor Ukitake. Almost, but not quite. Kyoraku and Ukitake are Yamaās āchildrenā, the first of his graduates and the oldest Captains in SS. Unohana is like the little sister who was born when you were already an adult.

Unohana has always been the strongest of the three kids.
And compared to Aizen, Unohana is equal in attack, kidou and intelligence and is physically stronger.

Probably because its something you like came out of it. If its something you donāt like āASSPULLā. If its something you do like āKubo is good at foreshadowing.ā
Looking back, regardless of the outcome, Kubo always plans aheadā¦
That is why i said that people donāt give Kubo enough credit, there are a lot of little details on many past chapters that have been foreshadowing a lot of the stuff that happens later on the story.
Youāre forgetting that Yama was not the first CC of SS. While yes they may be his first students. Thereās nothing that suggests that Unohana was not around doing her own thing when they were children. For all we know she could be one of the figures in the pic with Yama when Juha refers to the old Gotei 13 as āmurderous thugsā.
For those who watched the filler arcs. Do any of you recall Unohanaās zanpaktou spirit?
It always seemed like a means of foreshadowing with its reaper like appearance. Seeing it do absolutely nothing for pretty much the entire filler made me want to see her in action more. Maybe Iām giving kubo too much credit.
I havenāt been this hype for bleach in a long time. I try not to speculate but I canāt help myself lol.
Edit: Yama did train the boys well before becoming CC, but thereās still no confirmation as to when Unohana came into the picture.

You sure about that? Iāve always been under the impression that the Gotei 13 (or at least the way itās presently structured) and the academy were Yamaās creations.
Wrt seniority:
So itās not certain that Unohana has necessarily been around longer than Kyoraku & Ukitake or vice versa, but it seems the three of them had no predecessors for their positions in the Gotei 13 at least.
Same chapter coincidentally states that there had been ten different Kenpachis at that point, too.
Hmm I was certain I saw that. But I guess it makes much more sense that heād be the first. I guess I stand corrected. Thank you. Well I guess Iām gonna just wait and see how this unfolds.
Well onto a less losing note lol. Noticing the similarities between the king and butterflaizen. Do you think the hougyoku allowed Aizen, having seen the king, to use the kings image to create his idea of king within himself?
