The biggest unexplained piece of this puzzle still remains the same, Something happened the required Ichigo’s father and mother to go to the farthest extent of both Quincy and shinigami power in order for each of them to lose their powers, but no one EVER mentions a threat that major in the past. Ichigo’s dad going final Getsuga would have made him around the 2nd to 5th strongest person in Bleach. There are people who haven’t used bankai in hundreds of years but for some reason this guy needed to use the fullest possible limit of his bankai that no one else seems to be able to do.
BTW this is getting similar to the end of Yu Yu Hakusho
Very interesting chapter. I had a feeling Haschwald would be pretty strong (I’m glad it’s true). Thanks to this chapter, I’m starting to believe the reason why Isshin left SS in the first place was because of Ichigo’s mom (which I could see it either being Yamamoto’s or Isshin’s decision). If only I could see Uryuu’s face when he finds out Ichigo’s a fellow quincy (his brainiac mind wouldn’t be able handle it lol). Ichigo having some quincy techniques would be cool to see, but I want to know if he can still use his hollow powers. Did they just disappear? If so, how come? I don’t know how everybody else feels about the manga, but Kubo is really keeping me interested with the way things are going. By the time Thanksgiving and/or Christmas comes, there might be another mind-blowing chapter for us.

I had theories about Ichigo’s parents back during the espada arc. I originally thought his mom might have been royalty, or part of the family protected by squad zero. (The Spirit princess if you will). I thought maybe Isshin was a squad zero captain, got a little too close and friendly with miss spirit pants and then they eloped. Escaping from SS out of squad zero probably would have been enough reason to use Final Getsuga in some manner.
Obviously that theory got destroyed but the same premise still remains. Isshin and Ichi’s Mom start the forbidden love and he has to find a way out of soul society. So now we have ichigo, the ultimate shounen half…err… thirds(?) Breed?
Shinigami from his pops, Quincy from his mom, and hollow because Kisuke is still shady and when he makes his final move on the chessboard, that’s when the shit is really gonna fly.
Also i’m sure the “son” quip from Juha was more of a view from a god perspective. All the quincy are his daughters and sons, I can’t see Kubo actually trying this darth vader bullshit. He’s done some dumb things, but im willing to give him at least a tick more credit than that.
If nothing else, there’s no battles to fight, so maybe we’ll finally get some reveals on the shit we’ve been waiting on. Who’s dead, who isn’t (ok other than CC everyone is possible to receive the tittyhime treatment).
