For the record I also bought GGAC+ for about $35 USD but that was because Play-Asia was having a sale at the time (this was about 7-8 months before the English release btw)…
as for saying every GG upgrade costed $20 I’d like to know where do you live? lol…
exactly, hell i play futbol games (soccer for you) and every year they release a new game, the people complaints about it, no, in fact they expect that in order to increase the game experience
Oh, well it’s mainly because I can’t seem to really like the character designs. For me, character designs is a huge part of a fighting game. If I can’t find a character I like then there isn’t much of a reason for me to play.
… I still can’t find a likable character even after this update…
kinda the same with me but a good 2D game with online play was too hard to pass up. After a while the characters grew on me although I still despise Rachel and Nu but all the others are ok.
Thing is, I didn’t find the gameplay of the game to be good enough to actually try to play it much. If the gameplay would of been good and balanced, I would of tried harder. I sort of like Noel and Rachel a bit, a tiny bit. But, the bad gameplay didn’t let me play it for long.
I hated a lot of the Guilty Gear characters tbh, but they are better than most of the BlazBlue cast imo. Even the characters I dont like all that much in GG are pretty memorable like Faust or Bridget, BB characters are too unoriginal and forgettable for the most part.
Ragna as much as I like him is often deemed generic and gets compared to Sol, Dante, Ichigo, Inuyasha, etc far too often. His look and style are pretty unoriginal, but the dude atleast has some human-like features to him unlike Sol who’s pretty much like “I’m too badass for anybody, get lost”. He’s a legit protagonist, and he isnt a pussy like Ichigo or Inuyasha. Jin is like the exact opposite of Ky, but is still really comparable since theyre cut from the same mold pretty much, “I am a high ranking soldier from ____, and I’m trying to stop this rebel dickhead main protagonist named ____ because I dont like him.” Hakumen is a pretty cool character and is pretty interesting imo. Everybody else seems to be forgettable as hell or a dumb anime cliche.
Gameplay-wise, I’m too stupid for Guilty Gear and BlazBlue takes it easier. I like that. I do wish it were more balanced, and hopefully CS fufills that wish.
I definitely do enjoy the GG series much better then BB. But it all boils down to which game people are playing and it’s BB. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop learning GG but BB is going to have priority and if you enjoy the game for what it is and not what you’re used to, then it’ll be fun. With the developer’s background and what everyone has already said, we’re still really early in the stages of BB and I bet it’ll be at GGAC level at some point.
As for CS, I’m looking forward to trying out Hazama, he has some interesting gameplay mechanics which is what I’m into. See sig.
to each his own i guess… we can say that with most fgs nowadays… so many different characters have molded after each other… so the real answer is : no ideas original, there’s nothing new under the sun, it’s not what you do, but how it’s done.
but ill be repping noel…even with her nerfs cuse she’s godlike!!!
I personally prefer BB characters. With the exception of Bridget, Eddie, Zappa, ABA, Robo-ky and Slayer, none of the GG cast really gelled with me, wheras in Blazblue it’s harder to list characters who I don’t like, and there are more playable non-humans amongst the BB cast.
And of course, Taokaka is the best character design in a fighting game ever.
If we’re going to talk character design in the two series, I personally was much more interested in Tager than in any other character from either series.
The game’s not for everyone. That’s the reason I don’t play SFIV. I hate everyone’s design (mechanically, though visually I don’t like most of them either).
To be honest, the only character I really like is Arakune, but it only takes one.
KOF 12 had 22 characters. BB had 12. Hell, KOF XII had far more characters than THIS sequel (!) will have. It also had far better animation and shading.
This is only “worth” more if you’re an anime nut and likes masturbating to boob jokes.
ah yes, tell me more about your child-like opinions.
hint: number of characters does not indicate variety of interesting strategy, there’s more variation in the 8 viable characters in blazblue than there are in the entirety of kof12.
