A vs A+ is basically an irrelevant distinction. No tier list is precise enough for that to matter, IMHO.

Well, to give an idea how ridiculous she was, being SS Tier is actually a drop of either 1 or 2 tiers from SSSS or SSS, depending on who you ask, how good the player is, and how much salt is around.

Pretty much. All they did, really, was fix her “LOL, you can do nothing in neutral because I will just smack you with the 4 frame activation on graviton” and “Oh, are you in the corner and I have 50 meter? Now you are dead.” problems. Which, yes, were big problems, but they were basically just the biggest two of a huge pile.

I’m not sure about Carl and Azrael, I kind of think Relius should be up there instead, but it looks really accurate in my opinion.
Why would Azrael not be S now? He was already bleeding over into it, and where everyone else up there got nerfed, he didn’t.
Though yeah, I think they got Carl and Relius backwards.

He might be. I’m not exactly arguing with it, just questioning the source. The placement of Carl seems really weird to me considering how weak he was perceived in 1.0. I haven’t had enough time to review every character’s changes to know, but I guess Azrael and Rachel are the characters who benefitted the most from every other top tier’s nerfs.

The thing about Carl is that typically his barrier/usage requirement is pretty high. Like, he’s often seen as one of those characters that’s hard to use, but rewarding if you put the time in, and a lot of people typically view him as like a wall pretty much, since the doll can just keep taking hits.
It’s not really an issue of difficulty; I’m pretty sure all of the top Japanese Carls know how to play him. He’s been considered low-mid because all of his good matchups are against the low tiers, but other characters can abuse those deficiencies more effectively. Meanwhile, some of his worst matchups (Koko, Jin, Mu, Litchi) are among the best and most popular characters in the game.
His only big change in 1.1 is the quicker recovery on Nirvana, which didn’t sound too huge to me when I read about it, but apparently it’s rather broken now, and it gives him an outlet to utilize OD that he didn’t have before. Combined with the nerfs to some of his bad matchups, it puts him in a much better place, but S tier? It feels like it could be the opinion of one player who’s sick of losing to Carl.

Typically, what’s seen as the best forum for Blazblue (and airdashers in general) is Dustloop. They pretty much have any bit of info you’d want and links to frame data, hitboxes, and the like, as well as sub-forums and topics purely for matchup discussion and character specific things.
