Though, with the English VA’s, I’ve heard some random things on who voices who. Some good, some bad.
Azrael: DC Douglas (Wesker)
Amane: Yuri Lowenthal (Yosuke)
Bullet: Erin Fitzgerald (Chie)
Hazama is back to Doug Erholtz, and unfortunately it sounds like Bang is sticking with the VA they had for him for Extend, instead of the one from CT and CS.

I actually though Bullet was Tara Platt, but it looks like you’re right. Couldn’t tell if she sounded more like Mitsuru or Parasoul.
Oh right, yeah. My bad. I knew it was someone who’s first credited name was 2 letters, lol. I’ll go fix it now. I would’ve preferred Aigis’ VA do Bullet, but Chie’s is fine by me.
American voice acting, so incestuous. No wonder it always sounds like the same two dozen people voicing all the things.

So, when I import this game, will there be a way to change the in-game language/text to English?

I can’t wait to see what they “broke” or improved with Litchi. I’ll put in some time with everyone, but I’m sure I’ll go back to her for most matches. I’m so ready for the day when we “western” folk may actually give the BB series its just dues…one of the most underrated fighters by so many if you ask me.
Only for battle sounds and the main menu, everything else will be in Japanese.
I would but…720s into 1080s Rekka-style sounds like a total nightmare for someone that can never even seem to normally do 360s.

It’s more like we can actually recognize poor delivery and inflection for English acting because we actually speak the language. It’s not that foreign voicework is inherently superior, it’s just that you can’t exactly tell what voice acting is “bad” for a foreign language unless it’s a painfully obvious case.
I actually think the English voicework for BB has been consistently exceptional.
It’s not only that. It’s also the fact that the Japanese language is more succinct and thus, harder to mess up. But yeah, the average Japanese person wouldn’t know if our voice acting was terrible or not.
Incidentally, Airk wasn’t insulting English voice acting, he just said it’s incestuous = same people doing the voicework in every game, which is true.
They should’ve made the home version for this for America first. This was the perfect time to get this game the attention it should already have. I mean, Japan already has this in the arcades. It’s been in the arcades since 2012. America has to wait at least another 5-6 months for the home version(still with no actual concrete release date)? They could’ve made a killing this Christmas season over here and overshadowed Ultra Street Fighter 4 with one stone. It’s also a shame this won’t make it to next Evo. This massive delay along with the delay of the PS3 GG xx R+ patch is just a serious potential/hype killer. All most of us can do is look into the toy store at what others get to do.
A friend shared digital with me. A few random things that really stood out to me
- The game is WAAAY faster. Like, I know that was an early thing to find out, the hitstop being lessened and all, but videos don’t do it justice to how much faster it is now.
- Hakumen has a weird new voice filter. I’m 90% sure it’s his same VA, but the filter makes his voice sound a lot more rough and deep than it used to, which I’m not too fond of.
- Ragna is far more vulgar now.
- Noel feels so much more fun so far. She still has some of her old weaknesses, but she can now actually get real combos off of more starters. 5B comboing to 6A is a really big buff, and chamber shot lets her get easy corner carry and in general, being able to knockdown after hitting C on standing.
Anyways ask me anything and I’ll try to figure it out for you all. I won’t do any story or arcade stuff though because spoilers and I can’t speak Japanese.
A bunch of people were saying “Hakumen sounds like Darth Vader”, so that might be what you’re talking about. I’ve also heard in the corner, you can 6B into Muzzle Flitter with Noel too.
As for this game not making it into EVO? I kind of doubt that. Especially since one of the people working on it even said they were hoping to see it in EVO this year, and that the game is likely to be out by early March at the latest.
