knock down on horizontal ball would be too good imo. EX would go through f/b and knockdown. one has to give. knockdown on up ball would be alright.

The fact that Blanka Balls are punishable on hit is just stupid. They need to fix that. Imagine if Sagat’s Ex TU was punishable after it hit you. Stupid right? That’s what Blanka’s Ex Vert Ball is. I don’t understand the logic.

I’d also like an ultra that isn’t a gimmick. I’d settle for a lot less damage if you could be used as an AA or had a reliable set up that wasn’t a one frame link or something, but that’s just me.

OH oh I almost forgot they should make the down + 3 punches move have less frames to cancel out of not like at frame forty something. That move is good it just takes forever to cancel out of. I think that would make him pretty annoying actually.

I agree with everything you said except him not being fun (For some reason, he’s more fun than Boxer even knowing that EX UP Ball is a gimmick). Hell, I did a quick test on various stuff characters could use to punish EX Balls (Though I didn’t test it on CH), and the things they can do is utterly ridiculous. Sure you have to react to it to punish on hit, but it’s still easily abused (EX Rainbow Ball can be punished on startup too, which is actually fine imho). It feels like Capcom didn’t give any thought to its hitstun, or that of regular Hori Ball for that matter. Above all else, I hope this issue is fixed in SSF4.

As someone who semi-mains both characters, I think Zangief/Blanka is either 5-5 or in Zangief’s favor at this point.

I hate Blanka in this, but Blanka Ball SHOULD keep you in hitstun alot longer, but if blocked make that asshole land closer and shorten blockstun. Im all for punishing, but me getting a free Ultra on Blanka when he combos me -> :confused:

On that note idk why people combo into blanka ball when Im sitting on Full ultra or damn near it lol.

Couple of things.

  1. A link into ultra. The only ones currently that I know of are crouch forward and netral jumping HK in corner.

  2. Hit hori balls should not be punishable.

  3. Ultra work as anti air.

  4. He should have faster jump speeds.

  5. Hop should go over low moves.

  6. EX upball should knockdown.

  7. Increase range of crouch roundhouse.

  8. Give him his hori ball super from CvS2.

or chun li or akuma!!

These are my suggestions:

-Balls (up or horizontal) unpunishable on-hit
-EX balls (up or horizontal) either knockdown or unpunishable on-hit
-Focus-cancellable slide!!! (If I have the meter and want to waste it on this then let me. I’d rather waste two ex bars than eat a focus->combo)
-Longer throw range

I know all you guys main Blanka and therefore think he should be better. But he is high tier and the most annoying opponent according to most people. Making him top tier would anger people as he already now is ‘the most hated opponent’

In case you didn’t notice not all chars are shotos and not all chars have that fucking ex upball of yours.

A lot of the cast doesn’t have any decent wake up options, making blanka’s horiz. ball knock down on hit would make his already strong cross up game even better.

Can’t this be said about ALL chars in SFIV? Guys this is a “slow” game, get a hang of it.

I will have to agree that Blanka ball knocking down seems a little OP since EX can go through fireball and it is a mean to travel and creates a lot of mix up …e.g. ball into throw or electricity…
so this is all I want:

  1. horz ball is safe on hit(even in corner)

  2. up ball is safe on hit(even in corner)

  3. the hop goes over any sweeps/low attacks like shinblanka suggests

  4. Make this combo available… Horiz ball >> FADC >> S.jab …Or Make his Focus Attack Frame adv. on hit change from -24 to -21…not 100% sure if this change would allow him to connect his S.jab…if someone can verify…Blanka really has no use for FADC at the moment

  5. fix this: Head crusher cancel into hop against Guile…it doesn’t hop over the other side for some reason…and Guile is the only character.

  6. Making ultra an anti-air will be good.

Blanka was high tier in the beginning but he is only mid now and he has some really bad match-ups…
