Im pretty sure Ves could have been uppercutted in that particular setup. The only way to be guaranteed safe against reversal uppercut is to make it go the opposite way through a fp or mk crossup. Even in those situations, if done extremely late, sometimes the uppercut will connect.
Except in very few situations where I am pretty confident of my timing, I simply dont jump at ryu/ken/3 frame uppercuts, and I beat them on the ground. However, I have found that the new corner throw (from Ves’s testing and my experience), roll into corner then low mp, crossup kick, just totally messes with everyone’s uppercut, except for friggin seth. Not sure about cammy though, but shoto uppercuts get messed up.
While recording the setup with fraps I accidentally landed the crossup j.fp correctly. The trick is to just time it meatier. I haven’t been able to get it consistently or anything but I’m excited because I managed to get it!
Gonna practice it more this weekend, and put in a big Street Fighter practice session in in general. I have not done one in awhile and I am behind on my podcasts so now is a perfect time. If I end up land it consistently and find the magic settings to get fraps to record at 60 fps I’ll upload it to YouTube (course then I will have to learn to work YouTube uploads).
So I guess I’ll ask here, is this setup worth using against characters besides shotos? In theory if it can stuff the fastest/best reversals in the game you’re forcing your opponent to guess, right? If it hits in front it hits meaty enough for you do to do j.fp, cls.mp, s.lp xx fp electricity for 302 damage, I don’t know if you can get that same combo if it crosses up but if you can that’s badass.
After crossup fp, you cannot hit neutral mp~jab~elec. you are too far away. There may be slight instances where this work, and certain ccharacters (i think it works on ibuki, but not all the time). Its better to just to jab elec.
Just tried to get back into blanka, still having the woes of not being able to settle on a main . Anyway I would really appreciate some feedback on this match. I drop a lot of stuff because I’m rusty

I use piano method for electricity and haven’t found a way to do this without getting a throw, but its only a tad bit more damage so its not that big a deal. If you wanted j.FP, cls.mk, s.lp xx FP electritiy would work here, yeah? Although you are giving up easy guaranteed damage by going for an unplinkable one frame link.
yeah I don’t really feel confident in going for the unplinkable 1f link really, especially with how cl.mk is which causes the link timing to be awkward. I really only use it against characters with armor moves.
Also I recommend everyone slide if they want to be able to do buffered electricity(very important vs. rufus/yun/cammy/yang/adon), and if they don’t want to end up with hand problems.
I piano backwards (LP HP MP LP HP) and its not too bad on my hand at all, although mashing damage in Marvel makes me feel like I have arthritis :(.
My hand used to hurt a lot when I first started practicing it but it doesn’t bother me anymore. I think doing it my way is more ergonomic though, I used to practice it the other way (LP MP HP LP HP) and my hand doesn’t hurt at all when I do it in reverse.
I have no issues buffering electricy in rounds at all via piano. This is all muscle memory Ves. Why do you think it’s harder for one or the other. If i slid 10-15 times a round my hand would fall apart vs pianoing.
from personal experience especially vs. rufus/yun my hand would have terrible cramps.
I’ve talked to other players about the physical toll too and in general most agree that sliding is less stressful than piano.
I’ve played rounds vs. yun where I’ve buffered like 30 elecs. i can’t imagine pianoing that consistently in a long set and not having my hand hurt. Maybe my physiology just sucks.
My diet in the corner, while backed away from Sagat, is CC slide-elec, lp-ball, backhop, repeat. It’s easy enough to know when and when not to do it. More ‘rice eater’, less walking into fireballs. That’s not exactly the ‘healthy’ option. Just build enough meter, and revenge gauge from absorbing shots, to plan a late win.
Ex when safe or get close with a safe slide / FA dash thru and then camp out at the edge of slide length. Let off an early, blocked Ex-ball, recoil and immediately let a buffered U2 off. It’s not hard to train Sagat to think he can always kara DP or Ultra you after a (fake) ‘stupid/late Ex hori-ball attempt’. I find it not to be an exact science yet but with the right mind-games/spacing you can always fool them into eating one. (Moreso than trying to get them to eat a link to U1, punish or doing a mizbomb or something silly like that).
Fox: I literally cant piano. When i piano, only way for me to get the 2 in 1 jab to elec cancel I always will get ex electricity. Every time, cuz I cant tap single buttons fast enough. So if I have no meter, it comes out as normal elec, but if I do, its always ex.
Sliding is amazing, I have a little piesce of velcro on my pointer finger. I can slide all day and never notice it.
