U2 limbs on reaction? I don’t think you can get much closer than what Nishikin tried.
If Seth is using u2, I’m thinking u1 might be the better option. Late u1 beats meaty u2 and the ultra flash always gives you charge. U2 does that weird trade and seth can get a full combo off of it. ex upball is also great against U2. Double whiffs a lot or blanka only takes 1 hit.
Also he tried to punish the limbs on block but he was too far. The first couple active frames of the first part of u2 do not reach as far and you can see them whiff vs. seth.

Yea, it was Rom I played. While i agree divekicks isnt as important, for me as a player when it comes down to footsies and I can not worry as much about divekicks, I can compensate for pretty much anything. Yang’s reckas dont scare me, if he does hit me im pushed far enough away to reset the footsie battle, and overall I can deal with the spacing easier than i can with yun’s whack ass divekicks, which are just too random for my taste.
Against yun, while I have a set of options against divekicks, whether or not my options succeed is pretty random, and depend on frame specific very tight timing, and often times its just not in my favor. Against yang, divekick is easy to deal with, so thats how they compare in my mind there.
In the footsie game, I agree that yun’s footsies are easier to deal with than yang, but yun’s divekick, if used intelligently, can be so fast and so safe and so unpunishable that i would rather deal with the slightly more difficult footsie game of yang than the randomness of yun.
Mind you, i have played quite a bit of yang as well as yun, so just my opinion. But my true guess is that what most matters is whether or not the yun and yang are familiar with the blanka matchup. If either of them knows the matchup like the back of their hand, i think blanka’s options are kinda ack. They both have counters to all of blankas ugh stuff, and their damage output is overall better. But fuckit, I electricute a fool anyway.

NISHIKIN did very great matchs against Aojiru Guile (awesome setup cross up HP on Fei) and a very close match against Itabashi, seriously, the match up Gief look 5-5 now.
That CH cr.mk hit confirm into U1 was pretty sweet. He’s also the first Blanka I’ve seen that uses the focus reset into ambiguous electricity. I don’t like the way he played the Sakura match up though. Once Blanka gets cornered it’s GGPO. Should’ve tried to keep to midscreen. On the other hand it was vs Uryo so I guess it’s easier said than done.

I like how mashy mizo looks. This matchup is bad vs. a high level Seth, you just have to just sort of commit to options and go for it.

Without meter, Blanka seems to have decent options against seth’s dive, forward jump HP/HK or backward, standing HK or HP works too but the timing is very weird.
