ilitirit, thanks for mentioning that, I know when you focus dash it’s unblockable sometimes but I didn’t know that the normal setup vs. boxer worked with hk.
probably worth mentioning here. If you block an abel step kick and he goes for a normal throw, he can’t block reversal lk rainbow standing if he just holds a direction.
hmm, having trouble hitting the j.hk vs. boxer, I’m able to hit on the front, and vs. back block i’m able to hit on the front and land on the other side. I was having the same issue with Guy before. My timing blows, it’s probably 1 frame though or something.

Lol, only saw this now.
It’s FA crumple, cr.mk hop. Against some chars holding down causes you to land on the same side, standing makes you land on the other side. Against some chars (tested Honda and Rufus only) you can change the side you land by changing your timing. There’s list I posted on here a while back. I’ll try to find it.

If you hold down against the following chars, Blanka will land on the same side after FA crumple, cr.mk hop:
Ryu, Ken, Chun, Ibuki, Viper, Dudley, Dictator, Vega, Seth, Sagat, Gouki, Dee Jay, T.Hawk, Gen, Cody, Dan, Guy, Rose, Sakura, Zangief
oh i thought it was a focus reset into some sort of potential unblockable setup, I knew about the side change thing. I remember when you posted it somewhere else.
Aah I think that was cr.mk hop then j.mk. I remember that many chars can block it by holding front or back.
Just kind of occured to me that i’ve been using these things for ages and never really thanked Ves for the work put into finding them and the niceness to share them with the jimmy collective.
So thanks man, you’ve almost made the Balrog match-up bearable :). Any reason I can find to not drop this character in a heartbeat is like gold dust in this day and age. It can’t be easy being one of the only hard workers in a sea of lazy green men.
ves theres a guy who’s like a junior version of you in the gouken forums called reipin pillage, he’s studying up on gouken and given time i think could become a real tech wiz like you. did you ever nail down an alt or did you end up coming back to blanka full time?
I was playing Blanka fulltime for the most part due to ranbats, but I fell out of the season lead in the finale by not finishing top 4 like i needed to, so I’m not really playing for the same things I was before.
My biggest problem is that I generally learn better when I work with someone to improve to a certain extent. I got a lot of feedback learning blanka including from you Mullah, and it made things a lot easier. If I can find someone to work with my Yang or Fei I want to switch. I like both characters(I like rekkas, I play iori in CvS2), and I feel if I can get over the hump with them my chances of winning go way up, and then I have a pocket blanka too.
There’s a guy in the Honda forums doing the same thing as me too.
The unblockable with Roundhouse only works on Rufus ?
It works on Guy and Rog, but it is much much harder on them.
Just wanna post here to give props to Ves on the unblockables. I use them a lot now, and it makes the Rog and Guile match much easier! Confirmed damage after backthrow is just win.

It’s after super. hit super as low as possible, backhop, kara f.hop, wait a few frames, j.mk
It’s hard, never have meter to land super on twins. I’ve landed it once in a match and it won me the round though.
damn… .that set up to me is pretty much never available because i rarely use super and i don’t think i ever really bother timing it the way you just described simply because it’s a risk for me incase it doesn’t hit…
regardless, i’m amazed how you manage to find such a hard setup.

It was pretty much dumb luck. I was just practicing ambiguous post super/ultra stuff on yun and realized he couldn’t block it once.
Played a bit against cody, fp unblockable doesnt seem legit, or my timing is off or the window is really tight. He can block it as a crossup. Is it just my timing or ???
The timing is pretty tight.
I’d go to training mode and practice it.
