that setup is super unreliable with the timing used in the vid, I was testing it a couple of weeks ago and concluded it was garbage.
wait, whiff a normal, wait some more, walk, then jump attack? you basically have to do 4 1f links over like an entire second to get the unblockable.
Thats ridiculous and not reliable in the least.
I’ve been working on walk setups and they can be made much more reliable than that.

this game is so trash
sfxt revival here i come!
As a Rufus player, when the player attempts the unblockable setup do I just get up and late block by holding back? Or is it truly an unblockable. I’ve played a couple good Blanka’s and it seems I can block the back throw set up if I just delay pressing back.
Let me know.
all “unblockables” can be late blocked(generally 1-2 frame timing), now here is the thing vs. rufus, Blanka can mix up the timing of the unblockable a lot which causes it to be harder for you to block in that way.
Blanka can also start mixing in empty jump low/throw or just doing crossups to screw you over for hitting back.
It’s a really bad situation for Rufus once the Blanka player learns to mixup his timing.
ok so when you say he can mix up the timing do you mean it can now become a cross up or just a lot harder to block?
thanks a lot though
ill just try not to get thrown T_T
Basically moves the window around where you can late block it, he can crossup too with a 1-2f walk forward which can be hard to see.
If I wasn’t at work I could post this video a friend linked me.
Pretty much a video of laugh breaking down how to block the unblockables by tapping the stick. When I get off I’ll post it. But thanks for all the input.
ugo put up a tech vid, but the only important thing was
corner f.throw, hop, whiff cr.mp, j.mk = stand unblockable on ibuki
Edit:
It’s easier for me if I kara hop.
Also I noticed this because of the corner you can get the same spacing after a knockdown as long as the knockdown is long enough, so by delaying your jump but doing the same sequence(or whiff ball wait, cr.mp if that works for you) you can also unblockable off of ultra 1 or super or other knockdown(unteched jab electricity works for instance)

hehe, wasn’t really a tech video, I just tried to make combo to electricity easier for my pad friends using buffers. Seems the setup also leads to unblockables on Rufus and Seth but I am still modding the setup to be easier to perform.
@Veserius
Thanks for all the info you have put up here.

not sure if there is any use since patch is coming out in USF4
patch isn’t for 6 months so wheeee, the super/ultra/unteched electricity variants seem to work here too.
found some stuff midscreen, lemme see about recording it.

hehee, now you are going to get more blanka hate mails lmao. I am certain the setups can be modded to accomodate more characters though
Oh forgot to post here is the midscreen f.throw unblockable on seth. I’ll do a better recording later. f.throw, dash, hop, stepback, j.mk(must be done very fast)
He can crouch/jump out, but you can fake that with doing a simple safejump so it retains the 50/50 properties.
This can also be done after ultra/super and the timing is easier on those, just slow it down a bit, it creates the exact same spacing.
Also the corner f.throw/super/ultra setups can be done with a whiff hp ball/ex ball if you are slightly too far outside of the corner to do a hop and crossup.

Working on other sets of unblockables, nothing concrete yet. Hopefully will complete the tweaking soon. Have u tried finding more from midscreen Ultra? Have a gut feeling that there’s more to it. Fortunately I sprained my shoulder so I can’t lab up for a while, till then I sip pineapple juice and bananas
I’ve played around with the midscreen ultra a bit, you can get ibuki and rufus too.

@Veserius
looking forward to what you will make out for the other characters. I believe blanka should have unblockables for 70% of the characters
