I was wondering when I was gonna hear more about this game. I haven’t seen footage of it since it was announced.
They’re also adding 4 more characters.
It’s hitting arcade this week. Also getting one new character that wasn’t in the last location test.
PS3/PS4 release in November. There’s a bonus version that has art and stuff if you’re into that.

I think classic shining characters could have actually got this game to do well.

I feel like this game never had a chance in the west since people outside of Japan only really know the Shining Force games and the Shining series hasn’t been that in a long time, They’re trying to push the series in a new direction and no one in the US wants that. Honestly even just the art design of the new Shining games is so different that the Shining Force characters wouldn’t even fit in.
I don’t know if i should preorder it because there is always a chance that this get a western release

sadly it does’n stop their, Their no other game mode besides story mode and arcade mode. This port is very bare bone, and its a shame since I find the game play to be rather fun…but i can’t justified its price either.

Even infamous phantom breaker at least have trial, story mode and netplay. With N+ around the corner and few other games…I say only get this if you really want Blade arcus gameplay. Imagine heavy ground footsie game with some team element. Unlike Aqua pazza, Denki, and Nitro blaster, where your assist is limited to one or two action, Blade Arcuse lets them do 4 different option, with also the ability to switch after a round. Damage is Pretty high.
Character are pretty unique to. For example Ryuga is just typical shoto character than we Have Rick operates different from the rest by not having any command set but attack chain like in NRS fighter/ 3d fighters. when ever rick successfully completes a string they get powered up.
Wait, you mean there isn’t even a training mode?
Hearing that the game is that barebones is actually kind of sad, since i really wanted to give it a try.
It has training mode. Just no netplay.

Well I decided to take the plunge on the HK version since it was like $10 cheaper.
EDIT: You know now that I’m looking at this, this might not even work because of the assist super appearing to take all of your assist bars. I have no idea how this game works.
@John Yeah that not practical combo because assist super does take all your meter. The initial assist make it invalid.
Wolfkron just posted how ps4 share play feature is some gimped version of netplay.

If this is true then their is some form of hope. I doubt it be any good but its something…now i have to get ps4 and double dip because i like this game that much.
Is this game any good? Itching for a fighting game to tide me over until SF 5 comes out.
I don’t really care about the game being barebones as long as the gameplay is excellent.

it difficult to describe it. Assist function as expected except your assit action determine by what your character is doing when summon.

lv1- Summoning assist doing any time other than attacks, hittune,
- Assit will do it’s 5c normal, if hit cause a crumble state that can’t be followed up but can be combo into if summon efor attacking.
lv2- During any attack animation other than commands.
*Assist Does pre determin command, some cast being projectile or rush attack.
lv3- During any command other than super. Can also be use during certain hitstun or downstate.
*Assist does some attack that usually laucnhes or causes some hard knockdown.
lv4- any time during the player super that hits.
will do one of thje assist supers along side the players super. Can only be done if super of the player hits

lv3 assist also has second functionally call assist interrupt. its act Blade arcus burst. similar to Sengoku Basara burst. The assist attack function differently when use as interrupt, some will cause crumble state or other will launch in the air. Its impossible to follow up from either of these state. At best you get kncockdown.
lv4 assist being super does not take from the player super gauge, Its possible to summon assist as early as the super initially hit or as late as the super recovery. IF the assist has long super or the player can recover fast enough during the Assist super, its possible to follow up like in UMvC3/TvC tag team super or use the assist super as oki tool to cover during knockdown period.
assist can be summon during many period including being kncodkown, back dash, jumping, and even the start of grab animation. While in neutral is possible to summon lv1,2,3 but during certain action assit action is lock as mention.
other mechanic are pretty straight foward.
Their is DB guage wich ties into the game charge attack and refection, Player can use these mechanics twice befor they Db gauge goes into cool down state.
The charge attack will use teh Db guage to half point or th ewhole guage, in exgange the player will get amour benfits and attack that will wall bounce and the ability to cancel it recovery to follow up. but the charged attack is blockable and none over head. Player only get amour benefit if charge halfway.
Reflection is pretty much Blitzsheild but some adjustment. it works on all attack except throws, the user will recover instantly to nuetral, it can be done on both low and high overheads and even projectiles. if the opponent activated the refection they suffer black back that put them in air reset animation making them immune to follow up and only allow oki/ mix up as the best follow up. .
their is no romance cancel system how ever their is offensive action which act like focus attack cancel. it can be done during normal, commands, and even throws. on hit the the player can cancel its recovery to any attacking animation, on block its high punishable. Their is also defensive version where the player will do back dash while flashing . player are completely invincible and can do this even during guard stun. The cost of this is 1 guage and player can have total of 3 in game.
Combo are typical magic series from light attack to medium and hard, except for few extra normals, all can be command cancel. The game even has command>super cancel.
The game has juggle system similar to sf series where most air atatck will cause air reset while some attack causing juggle state. The game also have IP system where if you attempt to loop combo by using same attack, the opponent will flash with purple ring meaning you can;t hit them any further. how ever this si not the case on standing combos. It should also be mention while same normal attack can;t be use, command can be as long you use different level. for example you can use two projectile in your juggle as long as it not the same strength button.
