Bison's Q&A Thread: Ask here before making new threads!

No, he’s not that difficult because his game plan is fairly straight forward, his execution is comparatively easy, and his move set is pretty safe.

the problem is bipson mirrow is difficult. only best bipson wins.

“How you going to be the best bipson?”
“You just answer the question!”
“HUH?”
“IT IS TUESDAY!”

Easy to learn hard to master. Your fundamentals have to be solid at higher levels

This is true^

no character is easy to master

Hello is this the right place to ask this but i need some tips to Bisons Trial no.24 I can get j.mk to cr.lk but i have troubles to get the cr.lp and the rest of the rial togehter:/

Break it down. Try to do the cr.lk to cr.lp till you got it then do the other link in the trial. Then bring it all together.

fought a futerte player on endless, first time with bison i never see these guys. Tried to test if he could ultra psycho crusher (see near end of round 1… did it not once but twice… he didn’t punish… would he of been able to? if not wont do that again.)

Hi guys. I’ve been playing with Bison a little bit more since AE was released. I’ve been doing pretty good with him, both online and offline, and I think he suits my playstyle and natural skills so I want to get more serious with him.

Your forum seems pretty damn good and friendly so here are my first questions:

  1. What safejump setups are there after any of his throws? I’ve been using either walk forward a bit then j.HP/HK, or fwd dash then j.mk with mixed results. I know this stuff is character specific, so is there a thread where this is separated or something like that. I wonder if fwd dash twice then neutral jump HK/MK works on anyone…

  2. Similarly, what meaty setups are there after any of his throws? I like to slide after a throw to land right in front, then meaty cr.mp. I have a tough time timing the slide though…

  3. I react pretty good with j.mp x2, but if I don’t have Ultra stocked I tend to follow up with EX psycho crusher but I’m not very convinced about it. Any suggestions? Is it better to just j.mp once and then followup with st.HP/HK, Ps cross up?

Thanks in advance!

I was wondering if Bison’s cl s.HP > s. LK > c.MK > scissiors charracter specific? here you can see Neurosis pull off the combo at 1:38 approximately.

Also at 00:33 Yang’s foward dash is too good, Neurosis try’s to EX PC out of the dive kicks, but eats those mantis slashes!

I think Neurosis would’ve had a tougher time if Nemo used Chun instead…

Yes, cl.HP, s.lk, cr.mk xx scissors is highly character specific. It works on twins and Akuma. Maybe one or two more chars. You also need to be in their face to do it.

Hey there,

Although I’m a Juri mainer, Bison is my secondary character. I’ve being playing Bison for just little more over a year now, even since I was shown how to do a charge motion properly. I’m nothing special with Bison but I’ve gotten quite handy with him. I know the basics of Bison ( like how his light scissor kick is safe and his :hk: is a great AA. ) I have being told that I’m in a general a really good defensive player. Its was actually with using Bison that I learned the value of footsies, something that I’ve brought over into my Juri game.

In regards to the U2 change of input motion. I agree its a definite nerf but on the other hand, it forced me to go off and learn how to do a charge ultra properly so I now know how to do the Nightmare booster as well as the U2. I’ve being able to catch people I’ve being playing casually with U2 ( I’ve yet to use Bison in a tournament match. )

So apart from that, is there anything else worth knowing about Bison? I mean combos and things like that ( I admit I’m not the greatest person for combos in general though. )

Since I am mobile atm and likely to be so most of the day a question has come to mind: which has more range cr.mp or cr.mk?

I think U1 is easier…sometime U2 have problem if they overhead you it gonna miss, U1, which they just auto correct at very last moment.
I catch Yang try to go over me to mess my charge few times, I said it takes whole lot more effort to mess my charge.
you can just block, or wake up teleport (People LOVE to chip you when you about to die, don’t worry that just wait to see the moves and teleport behind them…)

I was doing the slide and U1, when silde hit, just U1, sometime knock people off the balance to block because it look so much like overhead psycho crusher, when they hesitate to think, they get hit by U1…=_=

EVEN sonic hurrican can’t doing anything if they try to do it on your wake up to chip you, just mash teleport if you feel the lag, your wake up is gdlk if they think you are too easy.

only one you need to be careful is the one stay at distance and watching you, for example tokido style akuma…his keep away game are way too good…

BTW I think that is most bison can do, make people hesitate to think, and if they think too much, yeah you get the chip and damage as reward…

I think cr,mp better, but easier to let them to punish, meaty is cr.mk, if is close I use cr.mk if is far I use cr.mp, close cr.mk into cr.lk is kind of good, and cr.mk into throw then into frame trap.
cr.mk is kind of fun because it can punish the slow limb they throw out, and the distance are insane, that is why sometime after scissor, if right I do cr.mk to see if I catch anything they want to counter me…it lose to few moves, but that is also part of mind game.

I don’t know any guaranteed meaty setups post throw, since I just look at the animation. Though that is something I should try exploring in the lab.

j.mp x2 EX crusher does 140 damage, so it’s not terrible. The j.mp x1 -> st.hp is a good option, but the reset crossup crusher is just asking to be reversaled if your opponent is paying attention.
