i think you allowed rufus to get too close too often. You were blocking well for the most part but you couldn’t build a counter offense and just fell too behind.
Would have liked to see some backdashing or teleports to give much needed space. Bison stand roundhouse should work well in this matchup to condition rufus not instant dive kick as much.
In that final moment before the ender of ex messiah you need to input ultra not after. Ex messiah is free to both bison ultras but i think you know this and just choked last moment.
I feel rufus match up is definitely about conditioning with adequate kick pokes and baiting ex messiah for guaranteed punishes. Just be patient and press your advantage in footsies to force rufus to commit his meter.
Against Rufus don’t forget you have 5 escape options, ex PC, ex DR, ex headstomp, teleport, EX scissors. He only has one escape option!
You really want to get him the corner and bait out those EX messiah kicks. Don’t forget about jump back HP to counter against rufus Jump ins.
