Wow, I’ve seen that same bait twice. Does that work often? Usually my reaction to focus is to Psycho Crush, not jump backwards.

I don’t use this bait because I’m way too scrubby to pull it off, but in theory it seems pretty character specific. Against someone like Bison or Honda, your focus fish is going to be useless because they have armour breaking reversals that are really safe, and so they won’t be pressured into jumping. But Sagat’s offensive options against a Bison showing focus (at the range Kuma is at) are kinda shitty: he COULD ex-tk or ex-ts, but Kuma could be forcing those options out of him in order to punish them; he COULD call Kuma’s bluff and potentially eat a level 3 focus; he CAN’T uppercut because of the way Kuma is spacing. Jumping (neutral OR forward) actually seems like a pretty great option for Sagat in that situation.
What I’m saying is, Kuma is so fucking nice!
This video makes my heart sink. Its TUC vs a Rufus and he gets destroyed. Not necessarily in the overall gameplay but by the fact that Rufus can juggle into Ultra in so many different ways.

Is this match really as onesided as it looked here? Is it just an off day? Is the Rufus just that damn good?
TUC and Kuma are pretty good. They’re both over 100k BP I think. TUC’s in top 50.
Whatever happened to Neurosis?
If you go in training mode and practice learning the distance on the Focus attack, it’s like at least 1/3 of the screen. I would try to space it out like… far enough to not get hit by DP but close enough to touch them. This bait works both ways, they can probably try to break armor or jump back roundhouse to hit you.
Kuma is awesome. Takes out Momochi and RF#2 Sagat! I hope we get to see him play Daigo. I think Kuma is just as good good as anyone playing.
I’m pretty sure Neurosis is now the #2 BP Ranked Dictator in Japan. He played at the previous qualifier, the same one TUC’s team placed second I think.
Is there a way to see the JP arcade rankings, or do you have to actually be on a mobile carrier over there? I get “403 Forbidden” when I try to visit sf4.jp …
