Hrmmm. I think you’re a really legit Bison player, so I’m hesitant to criticize your game – for real, what the fuck do I know?
All I can say is this: in our games, I’ve noticed that you’re almost always doing something. If you walk into s.forward range, I am 75% sure that you will press the button. If you have back-charge in short-scissor range, I am 75% sure that you will go for it. Oh, and if you’re down on life and I’ve got you zoned, I’m 100% sure that you are gonna start sliding at me! You know that I know how to deal with some of that shit (kinda, sorta), but you do it anyways in hopes that it’ll work out. I know how that is – against Jago and Tyrone Kupples, I knew that they could punish my stupid shit, but I did it anyways based on hopes and dreams (and a whole lot of impatience).
I think that shit falls under the broader umbrella of ‘decision making’ (“is pressing this button a good decision?”) I feel like the two of us are at a really similar skill level (no offense?) in that we can both hit combos, we both have some mixup, etc. But what’s lacking for both of us is the ability to make the decisions that will win us games against really solid players.
Basically, I suggest upping your patience just a little and better evaluating whether or not you should do what you’re oh-so-tempted to do. I think doing nothing from time-to-time will open up some quality opportunities for you to do something.
p.s., anyone (including Sherv!) who is willing to shit on my game… PLEASE DO! I’d really appreciate the feedback.
don’t take this the wrong way, but I get the feeling you’ll do well, but top 50 probably ain’t happening lol. You rarely see top rank people NOT have alts or a secondary. Sometimes the dude you play against just REALLY knows the matchup well. I know guys that rape my bison, then get put down by some of the characters I barely play. I only picked Ibuki for her usefulness in the Guile, Chun Li, Gief, and a few other matchups.
My lag comes and goes. I usually ain’t that bad, as most others can attest to. Mind you, if you get enough people all over at my place, it can get sketchy at times
I still get the feeling you COULD see something crazy happen at this years Evo. I suspect many ppl are withholding tips/tricks, until after Evo
No offense taken man…my MAIN goal is to make it out of pools (not sure how hard thats gonna be tbh). Also, I look to meet up with people ive been playing with and befriend them, and also get some good games in. Either way its going to be very fun. Now if I get first round bounced, im gonna be very salty lol
i don’t see u getting knocked out like that, unless u get unlucky and either end up paired against already incredible players, or characters you have problems with.
GG’s to laudanum09 in ranked last night. Your Bison is really good. Also, are you really in Korea? With the exception of like, 1 game, our connection was pretty good. About the same was what I get to California.
Also, with Evo 2 weeks away, I’m starting to realize that I’ll likely be playing quite a few Bison mirrors. If you’re on the west coast and feel like working on the mirror match, hit me up for some games.
GG’s Soviet, Tony, kisuke, and whoever else was in our room. I stopped playing Bison because my roommates wanted to also play. So the Akuma and Balrog were them taking turns. We should play more often!
It’s fine, I was actually getting booted out of some lobbies because people were losing to my baddie Zangief, decided to just stick around to watch and observe for later matches on Gief.
Hahahaha, nice. You actually blew me up the first couple games. You were really aggro and I wasn’t ready for it. I did adapt though. I play online in bursts (once or twice a week for 4-5 hours at a time). I’ll add you the next time I hop on.
