Birdie General Thread: The Banana Bogey Brawler

Every button you release for EX Bullhorn must have been held down for the required charge time. So you don’t need to press them at the same time, just have held them both down long enough

Sweet. I tended to hold hk when i press it to start charge for bullhorn if i get a crush counter, but i never thought to test if i could combine that with another button after for the ex into v-trigger combo. Wonder if you’d have enough charge time for a second button on reaction to the crush counter.

Donuts, banana peels, and cans are all easily punished by Rashid qcb+k (the flying kick). When I was messing around with Rashid I ran into a Birdie up in the 500 rankings that didn’t realize that and I hit him with it more than once.

I know that’s an uncommon matchup but be aware. It’s extremely easy to do on Rashid’s end. Best not use v skill in neutral against him.

Not too familiar with rashid it was punishable at what distance? And even donuts which have a recovery time faster then both the can and the banana.

Well that could be the case at any distance. Donut has around 50 total frames and ex flying kick travels fast and has 15f startup.
It’s similar like punishing a fireball with Dudley’s u1, I think (unless flying kick travels much more slowly than I thought).

you can punish it on reaction with Rashid…even a full screen ! :frowning:

Tsumuji vs LPN beta 3

He used his v reversal to get Karin off the top of him after she popped v trigger. I didn’t realize how much pushback it had on block.

Sneezing on fools.

That match was great!

Whoa was that a legit frametrap after df+HP? Hmm must check frame data…

df.HP is -5.

almost all medium and heavy buttons are negative, only HK is 0, it’s a good button to catch backdashs and grabs on wake up.

If you hit it during its later active frames, it won’t be -5, which is what LPN was doing

to add to this: It’s also is his farthest low and can occasionally hop over the opponent’s lows.
It might also go under her s.HK, similarly like it can go under fireballs, but I’m not sure if that works or if that’s also a good reason to use it.

It’s a strange button to use in neutral.

Nobody played birdie at the WSO session yesterday so I couldn’t see if their was any changes. But between the other characters I didn’t really notice anything so perhaps that’s a good sign

There were infact a few Birdies played. It was later on though

Hmm… Was it off stream? I wonder if it didn’t make the archive or I just missed it.

Probably didn’t make the archive if its nowhere near the end. As far as I coulf tell there were no changes but who knows

Hagejin and InfernoKong (my personal favorite Birdie) compilations. Thanks to The Beast for the uploads.

Hagejin was a beast with Zangief in SF4. Cool to see him doing well in SFV.
