i finally found out what the vf mounting plate is used for. this mounting plate came stock with the ls-56 but i couldn’t find a use for it until now. its been sitting in my house for a over a year. now i’m gonna put it in use.
Whats the smallest 360 pcb to use that isn’t the TE/SE pcb?
I’m looking to put a 360 pcb into the TvC case.
Not gonna lie here, but every time you post I always think “HYPE DOG!! ARF ARF ARF!!”
But to answer your question, I’ve put Fightpad pcbs in an SE case without any problems. Just kinda tilt it in the area below where the stick is mounted.
You can cut the Mad Catz FightPad to be really small.
Okay, please tell me that I am correct. There is a debate on another forum about dual-modding, and this is how it goes :

I need to get one of my cases dual modded sometime soon, actually. Running around with two sticks (modded HRAP1 and a 360 TE) isn’t fun

I don’t know what your skill level is when it comes to modifications, but you could get an Mc cthulu board for you 360 TE stick and it’s solderless too.

Wrong… MC Cuthulu’s/ChImps have to be soldered to the PCB. Plus, a ChImp works better when you are dual-modding a 360 TE, thus easier to dual-mod a 360 TE over the PS3 TE. You have to solder a 360 Pad PCB to the PS3 TE PCB, which is not hard, but more time consuming than soldering a MC/ChImp to a PCB."
Please tell me that I am correct. If I am not, I will correct any of my mistakes, and apologize that I was wrong.
Thanks,
~Saka
You are not wrong.
The least amount of soldering that can be done using ChImp for Dual Mod would be for the USB Data Lines.
Everything else can be done a solderless way.
Cthulhu and Multi-Console Cthulhu would require a DPDT Switch or Imp also.
So there is soldering there; no way around no solder Imp.
Even using the TEasy Mod from Phreakazoid187 would need soldering with ChImp.
Only need solder the USB Data Lines if do Screw Terminals everything.
For a true no solder Dual Mod, you will use TEasy Mod with SMD ChImp.
SMD ChImp has Screw Terminals for EVERY thing needed.
You’re either gonna need to solder, or use the TEasy board and a DualStrike.
And JDM, I know theres a lot of dead space on the pcb… but what about the lower part in the middle (where the headset jack is), I really can’t get rid of that whole part, can I?
Also, If I want to use the TvC pcb as a daughterboard, all I need to do is give it ground and find a trace for the guide button, right? Do I just follow the line until I see the hole in the pcb?
<edit> the reason I’m trying to find an alternative point to solder to is because I need to still have the button work… so I can’t just solder to the pad
Talking about hype dog…
HYPE DAWG! ARF!
Thanks for helping, I’m just glad I wasn’t wrong… I just left out information about the what dual-modding way has the least soldering.
The part that’s wrong is about the MC dual mod being solderless. Everything else from both sides is correct. (Technically, you COULD do a dual mod solderless with an MC in a TE, but it’d be a hackish unreliable freak of nature that nobody would want. For all intents and purposes, its not a solderless job.)
Oh yes, I forgot to say that if do two USB instead of one, can be solderless.
Oh, “Discs of Tron” would be sexy. Can’t wait to see it. Did you see my “TRON” stick?
Who hasn’t?
Are there any stores I can walk into and buy anodized hardware? I’m talking like red/gold/blue, not just black.
Check out local hobby stores (especially ones that deal with RC Car parts).
how?
The best I’ve found at retail is black, chrome, and stainless hardware with limited selection. That was at an independent hardware store.
If you don’t mind the prices, I recently found this online place with an amazing selection of anodized aluminum, stainless and TITANIUM bolts:
Someone posted this link a while back:
That is a great link.
Anyone know which one could replace the TE socket head bolts? Some blue anodized would rock in the Chun stick.
M4 x 12mm.
Man, you’re getting too good. Okay then, what about the size/threading of the bolts that hold the feet of the TE on, hmmm?
