I got my PS2 Hori Virtua Fighter 4 Stick in the mail today, just got home an hour ago and already got to modding this little stick.
LS-32-01 fits real tight righ tnow. Going to try taking a mm or so from the bottom of the shaft to keep it from rubbing the bottom metal panel this weekend!
Ever have a customer who you ask five times to tell you if they have a TE or TE-S stick, and they tell you the wrong one?
:[ I had to do so much more work today because of something this stupid ugh
The molex pins donāt match between the TE and the TE-S. Between the PCB and the barrier strip, and between the PCB and the daughter board with the Turbo and Guide button. All the signals are the same, but the molex connects are short one or have one too many depending on what Connector.
Kid said he had a TE, I confirmed twice. So I went ahead and wired up my spare TE PCB to a ChImp.
Get there, see a TE-S, and I try what I can do. I had to do some hard soldering to the pcb instead of the molex pins.
I was pretty fucking pissed.
debating in my head the eternal struggle: should i get a JLF or a LS-32 for my SE. I was set on the JLF but since doing the ultimate mod (which severely shortened the engage distance) Iām not to sure anymore (since LS-32 is supposed to have short engage distances). On the other hand, it is a stock SE, who knows if the JLF has an comparable engage distance (iām not doing the ultimate JLF mod if i do decide on it)
worst part of all is iāve never tried a JLF, my previous stick was a JLW with a different spring (in the Capcom SNES stick).
And the VLX? And Iām not letting you off easy with just the JST PH three of the connectors use. Iām talking the USB connector and the main buttons/stick connectors
I want to say the shaft cover for a JLF fits. I have a cover on mine, but canāt remember if it was the cover for a JLF of for a LS40. Pretty sure it was the JLF; I thik you would need to drill out the cover on the LS40 to fit
One thing to not eis the height of the shaft cover is slightly off depending on if you use a bat or ball. With the bat, mine fit fine. WIth the ball, it was a few mm of space in there. I just slid a rubber band on the sfaft, then the cover, then the balltop. No problem since
