I don’t know what HootSuite is, and I don’t use Twitter more often than once every several weeks.

How did you like Pinballz’ SF4 cab? It’s… something…

Oh and while I’m lurking, LOL that Kyle did a 180 on modding a SFC to accept SNES carts

It was definitely interesting. I was playing it almost the entire time we were there.

Current project is using a debugger to patch infinite lives on Sega Master System games.

Up this week is N64 and SNES mini RGB mods. I can’t sit still. I have to have some dumbass project nearly every weekend. I think it’s just because I put in a ton of hours at work.

The N64 RGB Mod sounds cool, don’t forget the adjustable pots. I don’t get why you would RGB Mod a Mini SNES, but what ever.
Mod what you can because you can right.

People put pots on their N64 RGB mods? The hardware is fixed, unlike a supergun where you are plugging in different boards which require different brightness.

Why not just use that cart-slot-modded SFC for RGB SNES action? So much cooler looking

I mean adjustable potentiometer on the R, G and B Lines. Rather than hunt for the right resistor for each line to keep from each channel being too bright, you can manually adjust each line separately

Idk bout northern va, but none around me. I found 3 stores in my area that should have them based on the search on their site.

Excellent, it was confirmed that (as thought) the controller I made for them didn’t cause the chugging issue, but was a software/OS thing. I think they want more of them now, lol

I mentioned previously that the company I interned for over the summer is going to give me a job offer. Another recruiter there says his team wanted to interview me too. I don’t think I would be qualified for their team, as it’s related to battery testing and micro controllers, but I’m thinking about giving it a shot anyway, as I haven’t physically received the other offer, and I figure worst case scenario, I still have one job offer. Does anyone have experience working with Battery Management Units and Battery Monitoring Units? (BMUs)

Apparently it produces a better picture than the SFC. We’ll see. Those damned purple buttons will be getting vinyl dyed.

Giant is definitely in NOVA (DC/MD/VA). I’m now quite tempted to have a look for said ice cream myself

And as an aside, it sucks being in a wedding. Especially if you have to travel. When you get to your destination and your rental has a dead battery while still on the lot, you know you’re in for a grind…

I got static shocked by one of the joysticks in that SSF4AE when I went to Pinballz. Was the first time for me using Happ Comp convex buttons, it’s very strange for me.

I spent more time on that SFII pinball machine though

If only the linked video was this.

In all seriousness, I wasn’t expecting a Steambox reveal this early on. I was expected Q1 2014 at the earliest. Now I’m just hoping I have a shot at getting chosen for the beta. I want to play with the Steam Machine early on.

I’m hoping at least one of us in techtalk get one. It seems unlikely as they’ll only be 300 beta units, but maybe one of us will get lucky.

Speaking of the gabecube beta, anyone want to be friends with me on Steam (same username)?

Also get hype, Adafruit is releasing a Bluetooth HID module with breakout for $20. http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2013/09/25/coming-soon-bluefruit-ez-key-12-input-bluetooth-hid-keyboard-controller/
They’ve also started selling flexy protoboards too: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1518

Lol, when I applied to the Gabecube beta, all I needed to do was launch a game in big picture mode.

Sigh, push yourself to stay up until 3am to finish something before the weekend and find out that a part’s footprint from a pre-existing library (sparkfun) breaks trace/space limitations by itself, whereas everything else passes just fine. Can’t place the order for a prototype until I fix that, but it won’t be until like midnight tonight. I hate that type of stuff, but at least it’s the last thing I need to do before ordering everything so I can finally put this silly thing together. Sparkfun clearly uses the footprint, they didn’t see it causes errors at a trace/space limit of even 6 mils? Yarg. ramble ramble, grumble grumble.

On a similar note. I’ve spent way too much time on this fucking thing, chalking it up to a huge learning experience if nothing else because I don’t necessarily think it will actually take off but I’ve gained a ridiculous amount of XP on this. If I order everything tonight, expect pictures to go along with my ramblings in about 2-2.5 weeks.
