On the subject of Seimitsu sticks I’m not familiar with, which do you people prefer: LS-38, LS-40, LS-62 or LS-300?
My own feelings on the topic,
LS-32, LS-40 and there off shoots:
Good all around stick, works great with Shmups, Fighters and other arcade games
LS-52 56, 58, 60, 62, so on:
Too tight and precise for fighters as these sticks are unforgiving when it comes to sloppy execution
Perfect for Shmups including bullet hell shmups
These are also great for compact sticks, where there not much space for anything.
Wish I drop an LS-40 into a VSHG.
I really love playchoice joysticks, I like the feel of them, the robust engineering and precision. I find the LS62 to be the closest and easiest to source lever to recreate that feeling without breaking the bank (although octogate). I agree with the sloppy inputs comment, this lever expects precision. The LS56 however I find quite more forgiving. JLF like in some ways but I must confess I’m starting to prefer a few aspects of the LS56 over the JLF.
Can’t go wrong with the LS32 lever family though, specially if you remove the multipurpose guide, feels so much better, so clean and precise but forgiving where it counts. LS38 and LS40 are simple variations of it. I’d start with the LS32 first and see how you feel about it.
Jayduck, a member here did such. It’s a process but very doable.
I use an LS-56 with the Kowal Short Throw mod and an octo gate. I use it on my main stick which is a Hori Fighting Edge(PS3 ver.). It works great for fighters and schmups in my opinion.
