u will have to forgive my friend, he has not recieved his AA check yet and is quite peeved
MAYBE IS KIND OF POINTLESS SINCE PEOPLE RARELY WATCH THIS THREAD BUT THE BEST S.SAMURAI TEAM IS SAM/SENTINEL/CYKE OR CAPCOM(IF YOU WANT MORE DEFENSE). THIS TEAM IS EXELLENT AGAINST RUNAWAYS, RUSHDOWNS, AND CHIP DAMAGE TEAMS. IM NAMING THIS TEAM STARS, SINCE NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS TEAM OR AT LEAST DIDN’T NAMED IT. IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS ON HOW TO PLAY THIS TEAM EFFECTIVELY, POST SOMTHING AND I’LL ANS. IT. tO BE CLEAR TEAM STARS CONSISTS OF S.SAMURAI( PROJECTILE), SENTINEL®, CYKE(B). SENTINEL DOES HEAVY CHIP DAMAGE WITH SAM’S PROJ. ASSISST.
are there any special sword charge DHC’s for this team?
for that team there are not any sword changes, well maybe the electric sword because it gives you speed and the ability to do the shuriken super in the air.
Why don’t you all just say you use Silver and two schmod characters?
Save me some time.
Silver Sam/Cykes/DR. Doom all the way
You have meter, user, and assist
I usually play Storm/Sil Sam/Cyclops. Works for me though. But I might consider Storm/SilSam/Doom though I’m not too sure of the setups for it.
Cyclops sets up Rameiken superbly with AAA. Of course Storm/Cyclops is as ghey as it gets.
I’ve been playing Silver Samurai for a while now, with a lot of different teams. Right now, I’m using Sam-B/Sent-G/Commando-B. Sentinel stops them on the ground, does chip damage, and blockstuns for Samurai to rush in. Commando stops rushdowns and runaway Storms. It’s basically Cable/Sent/Commando with an interesting twist.
try doom/ss/tron? seem like it might juss work =) or tron/ss/doom?
juss my thoughts if your tryinn to go low tier n still be productive. tron can’t be that bad with doom, she is a pretty good point character, who is low tier, and who doesn’t recieve the unblockable. ss will be onli one to recieve unblockable. runaway will always be a problem with ss on your team, best thing you can do is to make them pay when they land.
also mixup posted some nasty ss/tron assist kill stuff, some kind of reset into light super (ramikan?) experiment =) this team might be able to kill assist better than anything, annd chip pretty effectively.
think of you fighting with doom, your losing, they call capcom, you c.rh+tron, sj pink shit right into capcom, they try to hit you, lightning super =)
i play around with SS,Cyke, SonSon lol but thats messin aroudn casual play stuff if i was playin in matches and wanted to use ss i just swap sonson out for maybe Doom thats about it,
ok I take that back Changed my team up to Samuari/Cyke/Cable ( or Cammy over Cable) really pends on who i face but i find that the team overall helps eachother no matter what and u will have x2 aas Cyke/Cable or Cyke/Cammy, to set up for the Lightning super, + they all can chip down nicely with supers, all but cammy of course
I’m a Silver Samurai user.
I currently use the team of Omega Red/Sentinel and Silver Samurai.
If anything, both of those characters work pretty decently with Samurai.
What I would do with Silver Samurai is, firstly, try to use Omega Red’s Throw Assist to fling my opponent straight up into the air, and then use Lightning. It’s not 100% reliable, though. Sometimes, I would end up getting his Fire Mode by accident. I’m using that strategy a bit less nowadays.
These days, I prefer to use Sentinel. Use his Ground Assist to cover you, jump over your opponent, and then attempt to C.LP, C.FP, Lightning. If that fails to connect, I use Shuriken to shave off life, or even the HC version to push them away and shave a lot in the exchange.
To me, Silver Samurai is decent, but he’s a tad slow, will be vulnerable to rushdown, and should ideally remain in Normal Mode all of the time. If possible, try to pair him up with an assist that will set up an opponent for Lightning, or give him some overhead coverage, since he lacks a decent Anti-Air. In any case, good luck to anybody with this character.
thats why i use SilverSam/Cable/Cyke, Cyke is great aa and basically 9 out of 10 times if his anti-air hits enemy it’s an auto setup for lightning super. same for Cable, Good AA and if ur fast enough u can combo his AA into the super with samuari, on top of it projecile assist with SS helps a little with ground cover for either character u got out if it’s cyke or Cable, then just like SS if Cyke’s aa hits u can Hvb with Cable. team works rather well , could care less if anyone uses mags against me when i use this team, or psylocke, i just gotta work on dealin with sentinal and storm thats about it. gl with ur team other then that
Thanks.
The team’s basically done all right by me so far. I think I may need to train a bit more with Silver Samurai to make him more self-reliant, so to speak. This weekend at the arcade, I practically swept up an entire round with SS, using Sentinel alone as backup throughout the match.
On the negative side, though, Silver Samurai’s only strengths, at times, would be Lightning and chip. His combos and attacks are a bit slow, and I can’t help but wonder if Capcom just nerfed his J.MK in combos in the arcade version altogether, because it’s a case of ‘sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesn’t’. Maybe if his FP attack would actually hit low (if tapped twice, SS swipes downward with his sword, but can be blocked standing up as if it was a high attack), he’d have one more thing to add to his resume, but, as is, I can think of his core strength as one of the reasons to play him (D. FP, Lightning).
However, despite that, I do see some potential in his ice form. Sure, doesn’t do damage for squat, but his defense raises by a lot, and that super is capable of freezing an assist character when they come in. I’d see where Cable and Cyclops could come in here…they’d whip that as if the assist character was banging their wives. Er…if Cable was married, that is. Anybody tried using Ice Form to their advantage?
Cyke is good battery thats another reason i take him as my main AA for that team , he can build them fast and usem just as fast but also if u think about it, SS needs the bars and he doesn’t do the greatest job buildin bars, cable isn’t that bad but still not fast enough compaired to some ppl.
I’ve found that unless you accidentally use a Sword Power-up (in which case kill yourself, the match is over), you have to work so hard to land the super anyways that you don’t really need to worry about generating levels… you’ll be gaining them just chasing after the opponent. =P (This assume that you’re smart enough to have some sort of anti-air assist on your team - after one anti-air assist into lightning super, they’re probably not going to rush Sam again.)
Understood and thats why i have the team i use, u can even take cyke out at first or what i normally do first is ill wait till i got lvl 2 and if i nail AA into Lightning super ill DHC one of the other 2 in mainly cyke due to his Ability to fight decent when he is out and be a battery , i would say cable but then again Cable uses them as much as he gets them sometimes, unless u plan on tossin Cable out first
ppl underestimate his Fire and Ice power ups, his lightinng sucks, but his Fire and Ice own if u hav the right team to build meters, omega red goes good with sam, provides a decent angled anti air, can hit sentinel as long as u stand still while he is flying. He builds enuff meter for him, since Omega never uses meter. u hav to know which chars to use Fire and ICe or normal mode against, thats all.
If Fire and Ice and Lightning weren’t so easy to accidentally get, I think people would be much more excited about them. I’ve decided that if I ever hack Marvel, I’m making that a reverse dragon punch move, or require two buttons - or both. Accidentally getting Fire against Sentinel can be a pretty sad quick match.
Responding to the OP, over time I’ve found that I like Sam/Tron Sam/Sent or Sam/Cyke the best.
Ice is pretty good it can help prevent rushdown but sam really doesnt need help with that so its a little pointless but fire is a death sentence… too bad though he has some pretty mean combos with fire.
