Haha, no, im not quite done with zbattle yet. I gotta shut SiR_FoX up after all :nunchuck: I just got a bit sentimental while writing that post. I know its only a matter of time till you guys and Jesse leave Z for XBL. I mean youve already become a kaillera scrub :razzy: Seriously though due to time differences I rarely see you and Jesse on these days so i felt i should say my farewells now just in case i dont get the chance to play against you before you go live.
Man, i was so wrecked the other night it was like 4am and all i remember saying to u was to get ur asses down to Mas not realising that it would have been like 7pm ur time. From what ive read, Mas xbox sticks are actually ps2 sticks that come with a modified ps2>xbox adapter which cannot be used with other ps peripherals, so you may be right in saying that the dreambox might not work with your pad(assuming that the guy used the same circuit board that he does in his sticks).
Ive been using a magic box to play ae online. I tested it with the original playstation pad and it seems to work flawlessly. I heard that not all ps2>xbox adapters like the original ps pad. I guess once you find out what board the guy used to make your pad its just a case of finding the right adapter. That guy over at Mas is a Jedi though so i doubt ull have to go as far as to get an xsnes pad made. If your dreambox doesnt work im sure hell have something for you.
Honestly, I don’t see anyone on here beating any of us consistently or maybe even at all other than JSJ. Heck, I’ll get Jason Wilson (DreamTR) to play as well, he may even be harder to play since he plays more characters than Cole or myself.
For me, SSF is not that much different than ST because I use old dhalsim. I’m not scared of any characters, I’ve seen them all–I’ve gone against the best player for each character.
Vintage, seriously. I have no idea why you are so high up on being good at a SNES emulated SSF2 game. You are bragging about being good at a SNES game. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? I mean, it’s one thing to be stuck in the past and only play super duper old games (no offense to ST players) but to be bragging and actually thinking that you are loads better than tournament tested players basing it on being SNES with enhanced speed and just doing fireball/uppercuts? Let’s also not forget that all of 20 people in the world probably play SNES SSF2 competitively. Whatever. You have not played against a good Dhalsim, and Cole and SHirts’ Dhalsim will eat your Ryu alive, so “would be challengers” should refer to you and your brother, not players that have placed top 3 at EVL.
Blah, blah, blah. Boy you still type way too much Dream. I was just being sarcastic to Shirts. Wow, throw a little sarcasm out there and apparently an SRK mod will jump down your throat hurling weightless accussations that amount to nothing more than typical SRK banter. I don’t even know why you even included yourself in this thread anyway since you’ve already made it abundantly clear in numerous ocassions that you wont play on Z.
If for whatever reason you do play on Z, I hope you do in fact get some good games from whoever & whenever. If you still choose not to play on Z, then it would probably be best if you would refrain from posting on a thread that does not pertain to you at all. Well, not unless you noticed someone breaking the SRK Forum policies or you just wanted to ramp up your personal post count.
I still type too much? Let me ask you a question. Detection of sarcasm can be deduced from the written word in your sentence how? YOU’VE made it abundantly clear about ZBATTLE is so great and this and that. That’s fine. Bringing me up as my status as a MOD has NOTHING to do with this. I stated my opinion on the matter, and I merely was contributing to a fact on the matter. I said nothing derogatory to you or anyone else. Did I break a policy? Of course not. I can come in here and join this discussion if I see fit because it interested me at the time. Nothing more. Also, boosting up my post count? DO you see me post on here 24/7? That’s news to me if you think that.
You would only be able to deduce the sarcasm from reading some of my old posts on the Zbattle thread. Everyone on here knows my bro & I are hardly serious when it comes to Z and playing against people. Hell, we even joked with Cole about coming on Zbattle at Evo (which you probably didn’t know) :karate: BUT…this could go & on, but, I’ll take the high road…so, how about that Zbattle server going down every now & then huh?
Vintage, I would get SF2 AE and xbox live. This way you can put your skills to the test on a non snes version of SF2 against Cole, Shirts, Schaefer(probably misspelled), Valle, and of course DRTEAM Wilson. This will be a good way to settle this BEEF on this thread bro.
P.S. And course to face against “The Battosai”, lol bring it on.
Nah, there’s no beef. Some of us were just doing some friendly verbal sparring He just misinterpreted what I meant…no biggy. And yea, we do have AE for Xbox…just don’t have the right adapter yet.
Pulp: We have no intention of leaving Z just yet. After all, who else (besides Fbrain) can I find to keep us sharp on our Captain N trivia? Until we join you on XBL, feel free to keep utilizing the power of The Root
Cmon fellas…why all the hate. The only reason I even play on Zbattle is that the gameplay is the best I have ever experience. Better than Xband…better than Xbox Live on a good day. It just sucks that it’s on a Snes emulator…but it beats playing SF2 AE alone on PS2.
All Vintage is trying to do is get more players on for better comp. That’s it. End of story. There is nothing wrong with stirring the pot to get other players interested. At first I was like “Yeah right…this is gonna suck…” but once I got passed the whole SNES emu appearance the overall gaming experience on zbattle was too good to be true…reversing Sims low short/throw tick on reaction is just too good to be true online…that’s why I like it so much.
Reversing Sims’ low short/throw tick? You must have not been playing against a proper dhalsim…j/k…=) If it’s against Fei, that doesn’t work that great any ol’ way, old man!
Oh don’t worry. It’s not Fei. Infact Fei get’s mowed down by CE guile in SF AE…so now he’s one of my softer characters. Now Ken on the other hand…popping limbs with reverse dragon punches is too sweet and too priceless
Some of the best players I have met/played are DGV (Too good on Zbattle), JSJ (wouldn’t leave if I didn’t beat his DJ :P), and Gummy. Those are the ones I have trouble beating, especially DGV
In Turbo, Mokura is very good, but I gave his Zangief a hard time with my guile
ON the other hand, JSJ is a cool dude, taught us MExicans how to play
If you want some competition, look for “Mexican”, “Ryu” or “SuperKid.”
I don’t know how many UK players there are, but I played one by the name of Darth Ryu who was fun to play against. DGV knows him and said he’s pretty good, so maybe thats who you’re thinking of?
I’d have to put DGV at the top of that list, mainly because nobody else on the list ever played me. I was told to play Sabr3, especially in A3 (I guess on kaillera?), but I don’t know how to get into contact with him. Gummy refused to play me because I’m not a proven tourney winner or something.
AFAIK, didn’t DGV bros go to Evo anyway? I haven’t talked to them since I don’t even bother with Zbattle now (and barely anything online overall, with the dissapearance of Kono from KOF). Online sucks overall, even Zbattle isn’t arcade caliber. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not going to shell out money for a stick just to play online.
Hey Serpent. I went under the nick Darth_Ryu on z-net and I remember playing against you back in June last year. I have to agree with you on the whole “arcade calibre” aspect of things. There is a lot of bs that you can do and get away with on the snes version that just doesnt work on cps. But in saying that I still believe there is a lot that can be learned and applied to the arcade version by playing on the snes. Imho if you like og sf I think you should give zbattle another go. There is still a lot of low latency (read lag free) competition to be had. However, if you are a regular down the arcade or really have no interest in playing og sf then ignore all of the above
