I see that there are some mixed opinions about this “review” than there were with the other ones. I can’t really say that I blame you. When I look back at this I do see that there is very little actual gameplay and very few facts to back up why the game is trash. I do want to let everyone know that your comments are being heard, so I’ll discuss with the rest of Team Best From Now if they feel like doing an add on of sorts for this game. I’m not sure if I’ll actually be in on the video seeing that I can’t stand this game, but I assure you that if something else involving this game is done that it will be up to our usual standards if not better.

Yeah, after watching it again, I’d have to say that it does seem pretty “meh” up until the part about the hurricane kick being unsafe on hit. It would have been nice to see Sagat’s hypnotism powers and Blade’s bazooka instead of just hearing about them. Plus someone mentioned earlier in the thread to show Guile’s dizzy animation? I would have liked to hear how that sounded considering that I never played the game myself. If there really is going to be an add on for this then that would be great. Hearing those corny death cries was funny though. :lol:
Cant you just do a redo of this “review” since there hardly anything proving why the game sucked. just wasted time showing efforts to trying break the disc.
I have seen people do redos of their reviews if they sucked
Edit: On the positive note, I did find the “theme song” for Street Fighter:The Movie: The game review quite funny. Also, try not overuse that Tasemenmonkeymadpoo whatever stuff because that wasnt really funny. I never understood what was up with Ryu’s upper half as he walked backwards and what was so funny.
I’ll agree with everyone saying it was lacking. There just wasn’t any real gameplay in there except for some clips at the beginning. I’ve loved your other reviews, but this one just didn’t have much gameplay breakdown. The others showed who was best and why, this one didn’t.
I did thouroughly enjoy watching the game get destroyed actually, I’ve played the game (PS1) and it’s just bad.
Ok I guess I should explain what went on in the video and why this one is different from our previous reviews.
Ok where should I start? I guess I’ll explain the “look at his top half” thing. When you look at the characters in the game you’ll notice something kinda strange. The bottom half of their bodies are animated really well as they move, but the top half doesn’t move at all. It looks really unnatural which was why they thought it was funny to point that out.
The lack of gameplay in the video was for 2 reasons. The first reason was because only 2 members of Team Best From Now played the game. Normally there are about 5 or more people playing and testing different things in the game, but this time it was only 2 because the rest of us refused to play the game for good reason. That alone makes lack of in depth strategy and matches very hard to capture and explain, but not impossible. The second reason was Zen (the person that actually wanted to “review” the game) didn’t really try. He figured that since Capcom/Acclaim didn’t try at all to make a good game, he wouldn’t try to make a good review. hence the trash review for a trash game.
With this being Zen’s first review, maybe that wasn’t the best way to come out, but in all honesty he wasn’t given much to work with. The rest of us didn’t and still don’t want to play the game, and it’s really hard to take a game seriously when there is a lack of help.
As far as us doing another video to actually explain and give an in depth review I don’t know. There’s probably going to be one of two things that will happen. The first option is, we do an add on to this video to show exactly why the game is trash (you guys wouldn’t want to put me through actually having to play this game would you?), or we actually blow our other reviews out the water with our next one.
I’ll see if I can get the rest of the team to post in here as well so that you can see their comments. If not you can always check the myspace page get their thoughts from the blog.
Even though you didn’t take the review seriously, some of the game’s brokenness isn’t very hard to discover. I played this stupidity for a few minutes and found out that Akuma can do a Tasemenmonkeymadpoo infinite in the corner.
Just wanted to say that while the Tasemenmonkeymadpoo isn’t safe on hit. The Shadow Tesemenmonkeymadpoo (performed by holding the kick button down before doing the qcb motion) is…and puts them in a juggle state. So it’s not a complete waste of a move.
My recommendation… lock that review away in the vault and never let it see the light of day again. Simply use it as a learning experience and make the next review topnotch. I’d love to hear the reason why you refused to play it though. I mean if the game is truely that bad, I’d assume you’d want to review it, to let the world know they should stay far far away from it. Plus I don’t see how you guys are gonna do an update… I mean you destroyed this disc!

I think I may be the only one who actually liked this one. No, it didn’t have the detailed break down of the fighting engine and stuff that makes the other reviews enjoyable, but it had a lot of hilarious jokes in there, so it was still fun to watch. You can try to improve for next time, but I still liked this one.
Thanks Quicksilver. To be honest, you’re not the only one who liked the video,but I do see where everyone is coming from with the criticism. I just hope you all keep watching our future videos because there are so many more games to review.
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve updated this thread. In any case Happy New Year and along with the new year comes new videos. We’re currently in the process of working on a few videos that should be released soon so keep on the look out. We’ve got some big things planned for 2k7.
As far as doing Fightin Spirit it’s pretty much on the chopping block as of now because none of Team Best From Now actually like using that emulator to try and play games. I’d rather try and go and find an Amiga and play on that than use that emulator.
Well, just throwing this out there, but an easy enough choice would be MKTrilogy, wouldn’t it? I mean, that’s got enough bullshit to make fun of, and yet I doubt it’s so bad that you wouldn’t want to review that stuff properly. cough SF The Movie cough
