MOTW and Fatal Fury 3 and Special for me.
Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. No contest.
MOTW is the best of the bunch, imo. Each fF game brang something good to the series, eventhough MOTW has a small roster compared to RB2, which is a great game, the game play to MOTW makes it all so sweet. I like all of the FF titles, but MOTW will always be the best to me…unless they release a FF better than MOTW.
I think it’s safe to say that MOTW is probably the best FF. However, I should have made my thread title a little more specific when I asked which FF everyone preferred.
It’s a little strnage when it comes to me choosing which one between RB2 and MOTW; I love RB2 because of its simplicity. I miss the days when you didn’t have to know every little special command in order to compete. It didn’t have alot of complex controls to remember, but it still maintained a sense of depth. MOTW is just fucking awesome; it was one of my very first SNK games. I love it because, as many people say, it is SNK’s 3s clone. If you get two very skilled people playing this game, it can be a mighty thing to watch.
Motw is not a SF3 clone. The first SF3 and MOTW came out about the same time, and it just happened so they play alike.
I couldn’t really get into Real Bout 1. I loved the quiet atmosphere in FF3, and in RB series words flash everywhere. I also really liked the quick upper dodge and doge attacks from FF3, I’m glad upper dodge attack is back in MOTW but not having the dodge itself kinda sucks, I have to resort to a backdash in MOTW which doesn’t always guarantee a counter. FF1 owned but only for sentimental reason, duck king’s j.lk lasts the entire jump(you can’t select the bastard either) lol it’s fun to kick tungfurue’s ass from both sides in 2 player mode, but the game wasn’t actually too great, now that I think of it. Wild Ambition is supposed to be one of the games that don’t seem too great but get better as you play(a la SFEX), but I haven’t played one yet.
The first SF3 was released in 97, and MOTW was released in late 99. I know some Capcom guy(s) went to SNK to work on Garou and that’s one of the reasons its like SF3. Old Main character, whole new cast, some of the same types of attacks.
As for FFWA, the game gets better and better the more you get into it. Its supposed to be as remake of FF1 but what I’ve been told, and it’s so much better.
for me its a tie between RB1 & MOW,then follwed by FFS.
FF1-hasnt aged well & wasnt that good even when it first came out.
FF2-has a nice SF2 feel but outclassed by Sp.
FFS-i like to call this the SF2Turbo of FF.
FF3-didnt really feel anything great playing. i guess RB saga outdoes it?
RB1-nice fresh twist on FF w\chain combos, wall breaks, ringouts,& the moves are really flashy! nothing like hitting DM on a poor sap into a wall as they fall to their death! :badboy: :wow: I like to call this the XSF of FF.
RBSP-feets like a 50/50 of RB1 coolness of tight combos & walls & RB2 tameness slow pace.
RB2-i like to call this the SFvsMSH of FF. every1 seems to be toned down. :lame: maybe im missing somthing?
MOTW-wow a underrated SNK classic. Many would call it TS clone as if thats a bad thing.
best FF BGM-(FF1)PPcafe,(FF2)SPMAI,Duck(FSsp&RB1,sp,&2)& bowl head jin(RB1)
l hope thats specfic enough for ya kyo! :karate:
MOTW… “underrated”?
Uhh – Right.
I’d say RB2. I like the fatty animation/characters. Jokes.
MOTW isn’t underrated; many people have recognized it’s excellence. I don’t think I have ever read or heard someone that doesn’t enjoy that particular game. Alot of people do consider it to be similar to 3s. Infact, as someone stated earlier, developers from that team had a hand in making MOTW. Most of us love that fact that is plays like 3s; it’s just perspective.
Thanks for the input; it’s appreciated.
Where is the Wild Ambition love?
You can’t find the damned game in the first place, dude. It’s rare as hell
Fatal Fury MOTW, its honestly not even close. The game is just that damn good.
storyline and ending wise its Fatal Fury 3
listen its about fatalfury special - fatalfury3 having no combos the game is not there
fatalfury3 was so crap people got lucky having realbout and realbout special
but realbout is a topgame so they balanced it well + rbs & rb2 is quite solid as well needing good solid technique of play
as far i care its about fatal fury special just remember if it was not for that solid game the rest would never excist in the 1st place…
garou mark of the wolves is a hybrid version of fatalfury1 with run thats all no big deals in that game
Combos are in FF3. It just take a bit to find some. Without talking about chain combos, traditional combos are usually done with close standing normals, or croching normals.
where do the jin twins stand? i think very good in RB but sp & 2 seems toned down? i dont know about FF3?
Real Bout 2 and Mark of the Wolves. I’m not getting into which is better. RB2 is definately more Fatal Fury than MOTW will ever be, but MOTW is just so sweet gameplay-wise.
Ive seen 50% damage combos in FF3 tournament matches.
Fatal Fury special IS the ST of the garou universe.
Fatal Fury series > all of snk’s other games.
I have to say Real Bout Special.
