It’s going to be on the 14th
For MK, is there going to be 2v2 tournaments?
Maybe in the future but not at this time
Yooo, we may need to talk about the date. Currently, GC and I have both planned for that day. We should sync up with Chris and talk about logistics.
For sure, it’s important to try to sync up as much as possible. edit: pm sent
Yup, the promoters all chatted, we have a godlike remedy. First, we are going to have the Best Bout Beatdown on Saturday 5/7, with a special event the night before. Big announcement in about that in a few. In the meantime, go to Epic Gaming this weekend, and hit up Salty Runback on the 14th. May is going to be another NW Alliance month. Can’t wait, it’s going to be a grip of fun yall!
Hello gaming community,
First off, here at Best Bout Gaming we would like to give a big shout out to the NW fighting gaming community, and give our appreciation for the support we have received from the people and players. It’s been a great last couple of years for competitive gaming, for the first time since the early days of Street Fighter 2 the scene has achieved a new peak in terms of exposure, promotion, and popularity. Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, and pretty much everywhere else have seen their communities expand in the last couple of years, interest and excitement over competitive gaming has been on the rise. In Portland, we have had our share of good exposure, thanks to the combined efforts of the players in the scene. Last year some of the players in the local community merged together to form Best Bout Gaming, an LLC dedicated to the promotion of competitive gaming. In the fall of 2010, we opened shop at Purest Cafe. The establishment was kind enough to let us host our public casuals, and for the duration that we were there our weekly event continued to grow with great turn outs and support from the community. At the same time, we continued to host the ongoing tournament called Slugfest at Portland’s great retro arcade Ground Kontrol. Exposure was high, and with this the scene continued to evolve. Best Bout would not be where we are now without the support of these two great establishments, we will always be indebted to them for helping us get to where we are now. A big shout out to Ground Kontrol and Purest Cafe, two great local businesses that are down for the cause! Now, without further adieu…
Grand Opening!
We are proud to announce the opening of Best Bout Gaming, a commercial location dedicated to the promotion of the competitive gaming scene. This includes fighting games, as well as first person shooters, sports games, Rock Band, anime games, and so on. Depending on the night, we will have different themed casuals, such as the reoccurring Throwdown Tuesday for fighting games. We will host a variety of tournaments on various weekends depending on the type of game. Our flagship fighting game tournament will be called Best Bout Beatdown, and will occur once a month. Our main objective is to have a location that is exclusively for the gamers, free of constraints or any other obstacles. For Portland, we hope this location will act as home base for our competitive scene, and we encourage everyone to come check it out. The layout will be similar to a gaming hall, with tables lining the walls, and consoles/set ups running various games. We will also be streaming our events, as well as shooting various video segments for broadcast and promotion on a regular basis. Our good friend Chris Nguyen has been working on a documentary that will chronicle our efforts to level up, it should be available for viewing in a month’s time or less. The Best Bout location will have regular hours of operation (to be announced) be heavily advertised and promoted in Portland area. We feel this is the next logical step for the gaming community, locally we simply are looking to offer a center point for all the hungry gamers out there. Essentially this location will act as a commercial entity, gamer’s dojo, and community resource. Here are the details;

Yup, this next phase itself is a stepping stone for a larger thing BBG is chasing. It is nice now that we have made it to the point of not having to rely on outside establishments. In a few ways what Montreal did with their scene is definitely an influence with what we are doing currently. Looking forward to the step after this one as well, don’t think that is too far away. The latest jump should be fun, I expect to see the sun rise at least a few times at the new spot. Hell, I stay up that late regardless.
Free parking?
How late do you guys plan to go on friday?
Yes free parking n bring little guadilupe with you
From my understanding very late kwifreejiblow
Parking is $free.99
Everyone has agreed to go home when Kevin arrives, but if you don’t show up it will be an all nighter.
seems pretty tight. I’ll try to make it there and drag a few Eugene dudes with me.
Yeah this should be fun. I am sitting in the location right now, been working all day on it. It’s pretty much done save a few pieces of furniture. The atmosphere of the place is shaping up to be part dojo part lounge. Two walls are lined with tables and set ups, the couches come in tomorrow. There is a pretty legit food cart caravan down the street, and 3 bars triangulating the location. Wonder how that’s gonna turn out… Wait, we already tested it. Works just fine. Friday should be good times.
ps, it sounds like we are getting a lot of out of towners, some crashing at the townhouse a few blocks away. If you are looking for a place to stay, we have a couple of spots near the location. Come for the party, stay for the tourney.
Fools bout to get bodied that evening!!!
Panda: Trannies confirmed by Angel
Yes SamB’s mom will be there! $5 love you long time! She’ll make you holla holla for that dolla dolla.
Hopefully this will become as important to the community as I think it will. One of the reason I stopped showing up to the tournaments in Salem is because there wasn’t much of a place to practice.
We are going for something like this, if people haven’t seen it already. They did a good job rallying their scene, lots of people. We’ll get there too, this is a good next step.

From what I have heard, the Portland/BBG documentary is pretty godlike, the intro is slick for sure. Can’t wait to see it.
Preview?
ps
there will be 3rd strike?
