I would have to agree that this is from where the basis of our differences stem.
I find Strider+non-Doom assist to be quite effective, in particular against the top 4, whereas I don’t see Doom/AAA having nearly the same pull. I just don’t see how Doom can keep Mag/Storm/Cable/Sent busy aside from your AAA (besides risky pink stuff and butter beam), whereas Strider has bomb/animals/c. fierce/orbs/dj which are generally low risk and space intrusive. I definitely see Doom/AAA as winning 3/7 or 2/8 vs. Mag/Storm/Sent/Cable based duos, where I see Strider/non-doom winning 7/3 or even 8/2 vs. Mag/Storm/Cable and 5/5 vs. Sent.
In particular, Strider/CC and Strider/Tron are quite effective Strider duos without Doom (the overhead is unbelievably easy against Cable!).
Exactly. At some point Strider has a lot of tools to zone and keep control with these two assists behind him, and if he does so people are bound to screw up. Strider with drones can pull all sorts of timing and positioning tricks with well-timed teleports to throw off blocks, and he’s got a decent amount of high-low power, and when you’re not geeked to drop Doom with all of your meter then it might dawn on folks that he’s actually got a pretty good snapback that can mess things up when he’s counter-called Commando and orbs on an assist character enough times. Strider’s got plenty to be dangerous with without just sheer chip damage.

im not gonna say that i started playing the team before anyone else but at the same time im not going to say that i dont deserve anything for it either. alex and clock were the first 2 ppl that ive seeing play testing it but i saw more alex play around with it…
i was the one that kept on playing it all the way from golfland til now… i might not be known threw the community but you ask any so cal top player who am. they’ll tell you. you ask about that team. youll find out who plays is… you ask them how many times theyve lost to it… they might not tell you but the bottom line is illcontested… do your homework and find out something before you try and take credit for something you thought you came up with man…
now to khaotic_one… man do i even know you? have i played against you or anything at all…? so how do you know if im good or not…? besides this is NOT about being good or not. its about the team that ive been playing for as long as the game has been out…

Another is closely up in the video that was against Finesse who we all know in SoCal is a Top Tier player. For some of us who played Finesse we know the destruction he can do. Also keep in mind if he wanted to really beat the crap out of someone in a match he’ll do so. However in the background someone said, “E Z, that was E Z.” Well the match last pretty long for a while until match #3. Again point proven if Finesse wanted to he’ll do so in a heartbeat. Instead,

In other words, I just sayin that to keep it positive as well mention before credit goes to all players who play against one another. Some are just better on how to play smart tactics…

All very true, the potential of a strider/sent/cc team is amazing. as i mention to daniel in pm, the number of times i’ve witness his wins agains other players and teams with that including myself…
I never meant to disrespect anyone or take credit for “creating this team” (I know i didn’t) when i made this thread. All i said was the truth of my thinking process. i started thinkin of this team and shit even though i figured it had been seen before (sent/commando/anyone is always a good team). As i said in my original post, i said i saw clock playing it before i even tried it.
I saw that vid you put up speedracer, but with the name “daniel” i had no way to identify the player and look for more reference material, so I didn’t link it, because I didn’t know if the player was consistent or if he just got lucky one match.
As for research, there’s a lot of dead threads out there deathwish. I just felt like the team, so i put my mind on the forums and that’s it man. As i said earlier, im not trying to take credit for the team, even stating i got inspiration to play it from Clock. I wasn’t going to go hunting old threads or asking people around just to make sure if anyone else was doing it.
That’s why i started this thread, to get players of this team to get together and discuss it, and i got exactly that. Because i put up this thread, now i know your apparently a pretty famous Strider/sent/commando player. But that’s what I’m saying, now I know, i learned something from this thread, and that’s all i wanted to do in the first place.
thats cool dude… i know you didnt mean anything by this and i know your trying to mix your favorite teams in there too, its just a trip cause i was the only one that has played it for years, it blew my mind man… kinda got me mad i admit that too;P

Since it’s your team, that’s cool and all. Would you mind posting some strats with this team, like how you expect to do damage? Do you rely on Commando for that? Do you go for ragnarok DHC HSF combos at all, or just rely on orbs? Any advice for somebody trying to pick up this team?
I kinda like this team myself, but my sent/commando isn’t near any good level. Most of my wins I’ve gotten with this team are because Strider/commando is actually a pretty decent combination, I’m finding out. Strider seems to have a pretty badass arsenal to work with. But that’s just my take on it, so I’d rather hear what you think.

o, but before i go ill answer one part first… the way your supposed to play it is more of a reset team than lock down… instead of playing it as a strider/doom strategy try and think of it as a rush down since… some what of m.s.p.
the damage your supposed to do is from resets, keeping them in one posistion and doing a few unblockables with strider and sent… comando is there to keep them away from you when your trying to get a special, bring down run away teams like sandthrax, do specific combos that do hard quick damage with stridertheres alot more but its too much detail rite now, and ofcourse theres sent and comando but you all know combos with thos 2 ppl.

j.k. This team is amazingly brutal. The strider/sent/commando combo packs a whollop. Do not underestimate this team. The art of the Deathwish is one that has become perfected.
