"Beg For Your Life You Inferior Race" Super Skrull thread 2.0

Also your stretch normals are cancellable into elastic slam so on the rare occasion you abuse it to the point where someone tries to dash under or jump over you’ve got them cold. I definitely need to use them more because they let you play the projectile game without going immediately to meteor smash.

Does anyone use st.M more than cr.M in combos? I know st.M lowers damage but cr.M whiffs too often after either L attack. I’m pretty hesitant when it comes to using st.H so I can save my ground bounce but maybe I shouldn’t be. Since he can reset the ground bounce it shouldn’t hurt him too bad right?

I use both, lol. I know standing M does scale, but it makes for a better hit confirm.

I do, but it’s only because I have terrible execution. In a real match you just have to go for the combos you know you won’t drop. Sometimes for me that’s elastic slam > meteor smash > inferno lol. Really though if you’re not killing them in one combo, that few thousand difference in damage doesn’t make much difference since you have to open them up again anyway.

If played on point and teamed up with Haggar/Sentinel, or Hulk/Wesker, what are the best chances for wrenching DHCs??
Inferno—>Rapid Fire—>Plasma Storm
Inferno—>Gamma Crush—> Maximum Wesker (I love the part until Gamma Crush!!^^)
What do you think about a combination between Skrull and Hulk?? Can I spam Gamma Waves as Hulk’s assist while randomly spamming Jump Down+H??

Does anybody use Stand LM–>Crouch MH–>X-Factor–> Stand LM–>Crouch M–>Stand H–>Stand LM–>CrouchMHS or Cr. H (charged)–>Jump LMS–>Cr.MHS during versus battles or it’s just for combo videos??

Inferno!!:badboy:

Combo videos. I think I looped the ground combo 3 times when I XFC’d in a casual, but unless you have XF lvl2 or higher, it’s not very good since you scale your combo so fast. In xf lvl3 it can take out someone while building/saving meter.

Thx, Hi Im Nastyy!! I never cared enough of scaled combos but a lot about risky combos. When X’ed, a simple Stand->Cr.MHS->Jump MMHS->Meteor Smash-> Hyper Move is enough to kill any character? Do you include always a Crouch L after a Death Penalty?** My biggest question is about resets and Elastic Slam: how do you extend your combos until they drop for an intended H version Elastic Slam?? Do you kara cancel your Elastic Slam a lot?**

[]Depends on the XF level. Lvl 3 will probably do about +1 mil without inferno. Level 2 would require the inferno but won’t take out most of the cast.
[
]Adding an attack after a DP will add a bit more damage(of course), but will also set up for a possible reset grab. Cr. Medium is the best choice after a DP.
[]After Elastic Slam, dash+jump > Down Smash > relaunch > air MMHS > Stone Smite > Rolling Hook > Meteor Smash > Inferno. That’s the furthest I can extend it without having an assist.
[
]I don’t always Kara grab my ES, but after a few blocked Rolling Hooks, I’ll try kara grabbing since I know they’re going to block it.

If you got anymore questions, just keep asking. Sorry if I reply a bit late though, I’m still editing stuff for my upcoming skrull vid.

Sorry for bothering you my noob questions but I have so much fun with dat crazy character!!
I always enjoys your Skrull videos on youtube that show that Skrull is not shit.

I have recently a hard time against Haggar’s Jump Pipe and Morrigan in general, due to her tiny hitbox and Tenderizer that always dropso_O I don’t know what to do when she activates her Astral Vision and spams me tons of Soul Fist. The best answer should be a Meteor Smash–>Inferno or Elastic Slam–> Jump Down H–>Inferno??

No problem and thanks for your support. I make these vids to help out others, not necessarily to show off.

Protip: Haggars love to jump pipe. As soon as he’s snapped in or jumping in after a dead teammate, he’s gonna open up with jump pipe. Get into his range of his pipe and soon as you see him coming in, do a H Elastic grab. This will bait his attack and will cause him to fall victim to a free combo.

If you Elastic Slam Morrigan or Tron Bonne, be sure to dash forward first before tenderizing, otherwise they’ll fall out.

If Morrigan spam is giving you trouble, position yourself and go for a cross-up meteor smash.
Example:If you are trapped on the left side of the map, dash forward and Heavy Meteor Smash to smash behind her. It will reverse her controls and her blocking. Remember to follow up with a Hyper to either punish or help you make your attack safe.

Thanks a lot, Hi Im Nastyy! I will try to punish Morrigan’s Astral Vision tonight. Do you generally dash by pressing the forward twice or simultaneously two attack buttons? I have sometimes difficulties to relaunch my opponent after a Jump Down H (for the Ise loop per example) or an Elastic Slam.

Do you recommend to play Skrull on POINT or as an ANCHOR? I love his speed and firepower when Xfactored, but I still need to learn how he moves and fights, and I want to understand him when using assist at the same time.

What type of team do you recommend me?
Skrull (Orb)/Haggar (Lariat)/Sentinel (Drones)
Hulk (Wave)/ Deadpool (Katana-Rama)/ Skrull (Orb)
Wesker (Samurai Edge Low Shot)/ Skrull (Orbital Grudge)/ Haggar (Lariat)

[]Since I’m a pad player, I don’t usually dash with 2 buttons so I flick the analogue stick twice to dash.
[
]If you are having problems following up with D. heavy, then instead of hitting launch immediately, try pressing L, M, Cr. M then launch. It comes out faster and makes that combo not so difficult. The dash to D. Heavy took me a while to get the timing down, but I eventually learned it after a while in the lab.
[]Personally, I have him as anchor because he’s ridiculous with XFlvl3, and also I don’t have good assists for him on my team. Do what ever you think he’s fit on your team.
[
]Those are all good choices, but I like the one with Wesker on point. I use Wesker myself and Skrull’s Orbital Grunge is pretty useful for Wesker, also with the Haggar assist. The lariat also works well with skrull for now until they patch the hard knockdown.

Thanks for responding to all my questions. I could confirm many things for my weekend training and versus!! Inferno!! Waiting for new versus and combo videos from you!! The Skrull Queen will be quite* pleased*!!:badboy:

idk if there’s a matchup thread, but I just want to say that Skrull vs. Zero is a good match.

He can’t just fly around all day and shoot buster. You can meteor smash on reaction to his air busters. As long as you keep away and annoy him you’re good. Just stay out of the way of his assists, and back up and run away and use your assists to get in.

Are you sure you’re fighting decent Zeros? Without Haggar assist this is easily the worst matchup of mine. If he jumps around and tries to zone you that’s great, but if he’s got a Sent Drone or Doom Beam and just runs around with dashes and sword normals Zero is pretty much glued to you and there’s nothing to do about it.

^ this plus Raikousen (lightning thingy) kinda destroys both meteor smash and meteor drop. I usually resort to running away and trying to catch and kill his assist

some important questions here,
how good is skrull as a "rushdown character"
what does he bring to the table as being “on point”

Hey guys, I’m starting a new Skrull video this week, but since it’s my last one before UMvC3’s release, I thought maybe we could make it a community effort.

The point of the video is to show off new Skrull tech (or at least tech that isn’t on video yet), meaning resets, unusual combos, uses for his charged normals, and so on. Team-specific stuff is welcome too, as long as the focus is on Skrull.

If anyone is interested, let me know on this thread. I don’t know if this merits a thread of its own, so I decided to post it here. You’ll be properly credited at the end of the video.

Here’s some stuff I haven’t seen, maybe it’s been brought up lately but I haven’t seen it.

Fairly simple, I call it post corner inferno mixup. After corner meteor smash xx inferno you can neutral jump and either air grab or j.b+assist j.s and they fall into the assist where you can combo. Works with a lot of good assists. With many assists if they block you can mixup with s.a, sj down c, throw, command throw, tick command throw, and so on. You can also throw them off if you jump and then have a slight delay, they think you will throw but then you jump C and they fall into assist, however this doesn’t work with as many assists. NOTE however that the neutral jump grab doesn’t work against a few characters, I think arthur, zero, ammy, but I’m not 100% that’s all of them.

You can combo off of elastic punches with a few assists I think, I know you can do it easily with akuma assist.

Stand C is +2 on block. You can take advantage of this advantage with skrulls command grab and his fast wavedash. Stand C also hits way above his head and even a bit behind him. Swat your opponents out of the air with s.c or up elastic slam with assist call. Make sure you touch on the isedellica loop so you can go into a full combo off a stand c. My standard combo off of s.c and jump down c is one rep of ise loop, magic series, meteor smash inferno.

SJ down C is his fastest overhead he can combo off of solo to my knowledge, condition your opponent to block low when you wavedash in with s.a and then go for it. You can also command grab them when you condition them to block in specific situations. Skrull has an incredibly fast wavedash, train your opponent with it.

Also my favorite corner regular grab combo is stone smite, jump charge s, rolling hook xx launch into magic series meteor smash inferno.

Will post more if I think of more, look forward to seeing the video.

Forgot a very important one, against a character coming in do an up forward elastic punch with an assist. They must block or eat a full combo, however to get this to combo with most assists you must delay a small period of time, meaning that most mobile characters can escape it. I like to do it anyways against them because to my knowledge skrulls arm is invulnerable from about the elbow to the tip of his fist, meaning there is little they can do against it.

Make sure to use meteor smash against foes in the flying screen. Skrull like instantly teleports up there, it’s pretty gdlk. HOWEVER please don’t just use random meteor smashes, it’s extremely punishable and a good player will punish it every time. I only use it against super jumpers and assists. Hit assists with it and cancel into inferno for huge damage.

I got into some more well known stuff but I’m on a roll here, want to make sure as much as possible is included in this video.

ALSO characters that like to hide behind shit like MODOK and dorm if you see them camping they’re often easy M grab bait, same logic applies to characters that jump around a lot or just spend a lot of time around that height like sentinel.

The general logic I go by is:
Anti ground - hi low grab command grab mixups
Anti air - stand c, air grab, up elastic punch, H command grab with the last two options being slow and relatively unsafe
Anti flying screen - meteor smash, jump airdash grab

I’m already done with my Skrull guide. I just had a few problems uploading it, so i had to re-edit. My video is pretty much like yours, except I only asked the local skrull players for info.
