I’m so excited about this, this could really turn Skrull into a very viable competitive contender especially considering this loop would possible to perform from elastic grab.

@DocCeaser: I have a feeling Harddrive will be able to get out of it, that shit is so good.

If you know harddrive is coming and you timing is good then you can wave dash behind him and then elastic slam h. I’m about to start going through the list.

It seems like some characters can get out by mashing (air normals bring them closer to the ground and make the throw miss). The only actual moves I’ve found so far that escapes are Hard Drive and L Tenderizer, which always work and L Talon Dive, which works but its really tight timing.

Yeah looks like you’re correct. I went to go check my settings in training mode and it was set to high damage. I don’t know how it got there but I have a sneaking suspicion it was my friends doing last night. Sorry about this hiccup everyone this makes me sad.

I can beat L tenderizer and L talon dive consistently. You may have to alter your timing a bit.

I’m noticing that sometimes when mashing characters break free they slightly pop-up and other times they don’t. I don’t know if it’s random or if we can control it.

Yeah, I just found out that mashing only works for some characters. Right now, for me mashing works with X-23 (easy), Jill (only works sometimes, timing is hard), Taskmaster and Captain America (both glitch out).

Maybe my timing is wrong I guess, talon dive is hard to time but Tenderizer seems to work every time for me. How are you testing? I’m recording myself doing the reset on Skrull a few times until it seems like the timing is right, then playing back while trying to escape on P2 side.

Most times I just record myself repeatedly doing the move first and then I do the reset and press playback right after j.s, other times I have my brother try to escape.

I like using playback on the reset just so I guarantee I’m always testing with the same timing and don’t have to worry about whether I’m doing it slightly differently each time.

Also, try to escape with Ryu, it’s pretty hilarious. If you do the super input early enough, he starts his hadoken cutscene and it looks like he just goes through Skrull’s arm, he throws out the plasma, then when it looks like he’s about to get out Skrull immediatelly grabs him out of it.

Yeah I just did that a few minutes ago lol. The characters are starting to just fall out often, about 2/5 times. Maybe my timing is changing each time so it throws it off but I’m starting to think I got ahead of myself with this one. If I knew about the escape list before I recorded I would have tried all of this earlier. Sorry if this ends up being a waste of time.

Well keep us posted, hopefully that’s not the case, but if so mistakes happen, and the important thing is that we don’t give up, it’s really great you’re looking into shit like this. Just like I still don’t want to give up on getting past 600k for an elastic grab combo.

Here’s my finds. Let me know if it matches up with yours (or doesn’t), I may not have been timing it perfectly on every character.

The fact that most characters can only get out by mashing a specific button and ceirtain popular characters like Dante, Magneto and Akuma can’t get out at all makes this seem worth using. It’s definitely better than Spidey’s UWT setup.

Storm-mashing S and M works. Mashing M rarely lets her out
Skrull- To catch L tenderizer do elastic slightly earlier. Only guaranteed way out is Skrull torch
x-23- the only way out is mashing and it is not guaranteed. Roughly 2/10 times she got out. It may be random. L talon dive works but the timing is very tight. Unless they practice against they stop it.
Spiderman-maximum spider. Mashing lets him out.
**Cap- **Mashing M works but is not guaranteed. I caught him about 4/10 times. No idea what the glitch is.
Taskmaster- 15 times in a row mashing M and he never got out using the exact same recorded timing I used for Cap. I did it another 10 times and he never made it out with M. Mashing normal except M gets him out.
Shuma- Air S(mashing him out 6/10 times, timing was 1/10). U+H(mashing wont work unless they get lucky. Timing it is tough but even he got out about half the time.)
Morrigan- level 3 works. Mashing s and m works.
**Spencer- **mashing works about 50% of the time.
Hulk- Mashing M works about 50% of the time. When mashing L elastic catches when he almost touches the ground if he even falls that far.
She-Hulk- Mashing works but its not guaranteed. Mashing S is the most effective, it almost always works.
Trish- Mashing works about 50% of the time.
Sentinel-To even do the reset you have to call in spidey a little early, about when you press H. Harddrive get him out. If you predict a Harddrive you can wavedash after him and then throw.
Phoenix- Phoenix rage will get her out. There is a way to actually throw her right after she releases the phoenix by adjusting your timing. I did it in my initial tests of this reset.
**Deadpool-Double jumping works but the timing is tight. I only escaped when I started mashing it as soon as he broke free and even then it only worked about 20% of the time. Mashing L and S works
Jill-mashing any button works. S got her out 9/10 times.
Zero-mashing any button works. S got him out 80% of the time. If the timing on the reset is a little slow he can use any qcb move to get out.
Wolverine-Just being in Berserker Charge will get him out. Mashing buttons H and S, but S is more effective.
Modok-Air dashing gets him out.(no mashing works)
Chris-Holding down and mashing H gets him out. Mashing also works.
** Viper/chun/joe/Arthur
-double jump works but timing is strict. Mashing S gets joe out 70% of the time. Arthur seems to jump out the easiest and mashing gets him out.
Dante- Mashing L and M rarely lets him out.
Ammy-Mashing with any weapon gets her out except H with sword.
Doom-mashing L and M lets him out. I never had enough time to cancel M into a dash unless the mashing it had already gotten him out.
Iron man- mashing gets him out. When he gets out he hits Skrull with everything except L. Double jumping out with him seems to be the easiest jump escape of all.
Thor-Mashing any button works.
Tron-Only mashing S works.

The majority of these tests were done using your method of testing where I try to get out on P2 side. I really think the mashing escapes either random or have something to do with the reset timing. In some of my earlier tests with X-23 she made it out alot more than this time. Taskmaster also made it out often in earlier tests.I didn’t test most of the characters that Correa confirmed could not get out, but I think they all probably can get out with mashing. The only character I tested that could not get out by mashing at all was Modok. The randomness of the mashing escapes may kill this reset.

Cool, this is so cool. Love it because you can start the loop from Down H as well. So what options are you guys using to start the reset? I’ll try to record them in HD sometime within the week. I’m sure you guys are doing better stuff than me.

lololol skrull/web ball reset was the untechable reset i began to mention a page back. skrull will flest out in time.

I have only tried to start it from elastic slam, j.d+h, and magic series. You probably have much better stuff than me. Also my escape list is finished now.

to make sure i’m seeing this correct…about the web-ball…it’s an actual reset that i’m seeing? the web ball hits guaranteed, which guarantees the elastic slam attempt? and it’s air elastic slam y’all are doing?
