Yeah Combofiend did pretty good with his new team, especially with Skrull, but when he played his old team, he was just on fire.
Like KayEyeDee said, it’s a bit tricky to create a team around Skrull because he seems to be designed as an anchor, the clean-up guy, if you will. His BnB combos hit for ridiculous damage, require almost no setup, and require the execution of a 4 year old, lol. In my opinion, the aforementioned are of benefit when the pressure is on.
With that said… Yes, I use Wesker to help with my mix-ups to get in (if the situation arises). But let’s face it, no one snaps Skrull in. So I’m not often in that position. Definitely share your experiences, though. I’d love to expand my Skrull play. =)
I use Task’s forwards arrows and I like them with Skrull. They make his Meteor Smash safe and can apply pressure with F+H/DF+H.
As far as dealing pixies, outside of assists, Skrull doesn’t have many options to get opponents off of him. You can try Meteor Smashing/D+H, but those are easy to bait out and punish so use them sparingly. Best option is to throw them and go for the kill; at the very least, it’ll scare them.
Magneto seems to be a problem for me. Once he gets in on you and puts you in the corner, the mix-ups begin and I’m screwed. The only way I can escape is through a good assist (haggar or tron). Any thoughts of getting mag off my ass?
Yeah the more and more I play him he doesn’t have enough tools for offense to hold pressure like Wolvie, or ammy/zero, thanks a lot for your input guys I’ll keep soldiering on with him but it seems like I’m going about it the wrong way. He can do some serious dmg given the chance, but I think in order to play Skrull you need to pick at your opponents mistakes by playing around half screen annoying them with ranged assits and F+H instead of forcing them to make them through offensive mix-up(though of course you can play mlike this, alas there are better options for that).
This is sadly true. One option I have found to be somewhat useful is to Meteor Smash in place (as in, go up and come down in the same location). You have to be careful, but the invincible frames make this pretty useful.
People are sleeping on this character…
FOR THE EMPIRE!
What kinda shit you got with Skrull?
I’ve noticed.
Super Skrull plays like She Hulk, but better.
*Can anyone here post Skrulls frame data if they have the guide? I (and others) would really appreciate the info. *
Skrull’s one of my favorite members of the roster, and I think he’s got a lot of potential. And while I love seeing him played on streams and such, I’m getting a little tired of seeing his only offense being “jump -> air dash -> Skrull Smash -> repeat.” Does he not have any other good options?

Shameless self-advertising…but answering a question nonetheless! lol
its weird, i’ve seen the 2nd video but I’ve never seen the 1st lol reset #6 in the first video is super nice! Is there a reason you used standing medium in combos? I find that it scales the combo a bit. And was the cpu set to tech backwards in all the resets in both videos? oh and props on the very chill music
I suppose c.M might work a bit better when taking damage scaling into consideration. I haven’t tested, but you’re most likely right. :]
The CPU was set to not tech in any direction. The only real problem is when they tech forward, which is why you should either have an assist backing up your reset or use df.H to at least push them away. Otherwise, you’ll be eating all kinds of nasties. And thanks!
You’ve got F+C and DF+C for zoning, and you don’t always have to do Skull Smash. Use S or C too, they don’t have bad recovery time. When you’ve got the opponent on the defensive, go for throws/Elastic Slams. Best believe Skrull can follow them up for damage.
trish dive kicks …or dive kicks in general. how do you deal with them?
working on learning Skrull, currently liking him a bit. I am having a hell of a time though connecting after his D+H into a dashing S. That’s pretty much a staple to do with his elastric grab. Anyone have any tips ?, do you double tap the dash or use the command dash ?
I use a pad, and have R2 set to dash, I use that, it took me some time to learn, just spend some time in the lab, like 30 mins to an hour, JUST doing that, and you will get it.
I was wondering, I know we’ve talked about this before, but the game is always continuing to develop. I’m curious what you guys do to follow up your elastic grabs you land now that it has 6 weeks into the game? I’m looking for good damage, right now I’m running the following which leads to a potential reset:
Elastic Grab >> Ground Dash >> Jump >> Down H >> S (launch) >> MMHS >> Meteor Smash >> Inferno (534,100)
Running that combo as well.
