What’s the invincibility on tengu walking? Seems to go through a ton of shit.

Having a ton of trouble with A-Chun’ when I use Cody. Her jumping FK/LK stuffs all his usual AA ground normals, and it’s hard to keep her from jumping/advancing on me.
I usually end up getting ticked/thrown to death.

I use straight j.forward with Cody as an anti air against Chun with quite some success, beats her j.short consistently. Cody can’t anti air Chun well on the ground, if you can’t react fast enough, chicken block.
Cody has a hard time against her footsies also. I tend to be patient, stay out of range and use (hopefully :wgrin: ) well placed f HK and j.HK to get in. I’ve been told that Cody’s j.HK is hard to deal with for Chun’s.

chicken block>recovery roll out of a corner/super, or alpha counter. otherwise, you arent gonna beat splashes without moves that have invincibility.

Any tips for countering Dhalsim’s LK slide besides jumping away?
Had a surprising amount of trouble with some guy who kept sliding and mashing c. LP with Mika as well. Jumping straight up and coming down with MP worked on occasion, but not when the slide crossed under me.

If you’re still using Sodom 360+P should work vs Dhalsim, since it gets you in the air. If you know a slide is coming, you can of course VC/Super through it. The Yagura Reverse (backwards DP+K…the move that looks like the Tengu Walking, only you stay in one place) is supposed to be invulnerable low, so that may be the only thing that move is good for.

VS higher low attacks (ie. c.JP), assuming standing Short or crouching Jab and Fierce don’t work, you can try an early c.RK and hope for a trade, I guess. If none of those things work, just keep them out of that range. Vs Mika, you can punish if you block the slide with a slide of your own at most ranges, if not all. You might also try crouching Jab or standing Strong/Forward xx 360+p, blocked or hit.

If you jump straight up and come down with Jab, you can combo afterwards…I’m not sure why you would go with Strong…?

Ah, you switched to Cody? That makes much more sense.

That’s a little harder since I play him even less, but you can counter anything laggy with c.JP or c.SK xx FK Ruffian Kick (qcf+k) as he can chain to it from weak attacks. Standing Forward and the f+RK hopkick should both go over low attacks, and you can maybe get a throw or something after the latter. If Shorts or the crouching punches don’t beat anything, jumping staight up with Roundhouse (better than Short? They seem to be the same speed, but Strong may have the better hitbox for this situation) you can get a combo into SK Ruffian Kick, which you can gain momentum with. You can cancel weak attacks into a Criminal Upper also (qcb+P) if they’re close. You can sometimes hit them with a standing Roundhous when they air recover.

edit: far standing Forward will get hit by Mika’s sweep, but the hopkick still goes over it.

Best Kind Boxer- Tengu Walking seems to be invulnerable high. But you can hit Sodom with crouching Strong and that sort of thing (at least Balrog/Rose can, I don’t know about everyone else, but it makes sense).

edit: actually not invulnerable, but the lower part is easier to hit. Like his Jigoku Scrape, but upside down.
