Is the PS3 version of this game really that bad?
Someone be utterly brutal here, I’ve only played the 360 version at a convention or two, and I still want to buy this game, but I’m hesitant.
The review I saw on gametrailers.com said the Ps3 version was lag-tastic: picking up weapons, rings, power-ups and such all cause some really piss poor lag.
Bullshit my nigga. Theres two scenes(one near the beginning and one near the end) where the framerate drops. Besides that, its consistent pretty much all the way through. The loading sucks ass though.

from what I understand, they were fixing up the American PS3 version the best they could before release. But besides that, the only differences that were really known/big/any notice was the framerate and that the 360 had better lighting than the PS3 version. Otherwise, they’re both the same.
I promised myself that I would not read anything about this game before I got it… Damn the game just got shipped and I can’t wait for it anymore ^^. It’s been a long time since I was this hyped about a game
Got it for the PS3, the framerate isnt as bad as some people make it seem. Although, the loading times blow ass. Other than that this game is nothing but AMAZING!

So…I just ran a disc check on Bayonetta PS3, and here’s what I discovered: it runs entirely off the PPU and does not use any SPUs. Yeah. None. So that’s pretty much exactly why it doesn’t run as well as it could.
Why wouldn’t they utilize any of the SPU’s?
Picked up the last copy they had. The game is MUCH better than that clusterfuck clock stage in the demo.

Most games use at least one SPU (although many don’t use the PPU). On pure clock speed, any SPU is much faster than the PPU, but SPUs can, I think, only run low-level instructions. What’s sad is that Bayonetta also runs on SDK 3.0.1, which means it has access to the new SPU-sharing libraries but doesn’t use them.
I’m enjoying the loading time because I can do combos XD
I do love the references to Clover/Capcom games so far. It’s in a way a big “fuck you capcom” from Platinum.

Probably one of the LPs you didn’t collect all of. Also, the fire talons kick ass. Can’t remember the full name of them, but they’re sexy. Been playing all day, really enjoying it.
Fantaisie Impromptu is the LP you have to collect in order to unlock the whip. Find that and that sick ass whip is yours.
Jesus, I suck at this game. I have no idea when an enemy is about to attack me, and the targeting system is blowing me. Targeting seemed kinda easier in DMC. Tons of fun, though.
Then hold R1/RB to hard lock on DMC style.
