Bayonetta demands Dante (DMC) to make her a sandwich. Patch fix available for PS3!

Yea, the stage with Jeanne is dope. It’s not to long and that entire segment was pretty crazy. I don’t mind that one. The other two stages could have been cut a bit shorter.

Pillow talk is awesome. lol

Yeah. I also don’t really like how everyone tries to reinvent the wheel on control setup. Why the hell is dodge set to the R2 button? That’s awkward as hell when you consider that just about every other action game on the market uses the L1 button for blocking (or equivalent). Why is melee set to triangle and circle, with square being pretty much useless? Why not stick with what’s been working for years?

I dunno. I think they didn’t really think about the control scheme for you ps3 users. The controls feel perfect on the 360 pad, especially since I use dodge like I’m firing a gun sometimes. My hand cramps up playing DMC. Can’t say the same for this.

I like dodge on R2 (Though it feels better on the Xbox where R1 is a concave trigger). As for the rest of the buttons I really don’t care. I’ve adjust to millions of different button combinations over the years that adjusting to the melee buttons is hardly something I’d notice not to mention that I played DMC3 and 4 predominantly in Sword Master where both Melee buttons are Triangle and Circle respectively.

Besides DMC1’s Melee was circle with jump being Triangle so Kamiya clearly feels that those two buttons are best suited for constant use. i kind of agree with him. the thumb naturally rests over both buttons with minor movement. It feels natural and ergonomic. Same with R2 for dodge. L1 feels unnatural to me. I like relegating it to a simple task like taunting. Minor use and ease of said use.

Really what they should have done was stick with their original plan of including a control map system instead of abandoning it like they did. I think the set ups perfect myself but I know a good deal of others who do not feel the same.

Edit: Yeah agreed Osgx. The game feels perfect on the 360 controller while after a few hours my hands begin to cramp a bit on PS3 but I blame that more on the PS3 controller then the set up.

Sorry PS3 owner. :frowning:

Um as far as your gripe with how the melee buttons work I don’t quite get it. Like are you half-way through the game and still struggling to focus your attention on T and C? Is your thumb wavering to S every time you go to punch? Like I get your gripe with the dodge button but the face buttons?

I’m just saying the setup is weird and presents an unnecessary learning curve when you first get the game. I don’t really have trouble with it anymore, aside from the occasional reflexive action of hitting L1 to dodge and getting smacked in the face.

EDIT: I can totally see how this would make sense for 360, since LB and RB are shit, but when you actually have good shoulder buttons, it shouldn’t be this way.

I like those bumbers lol.

dodge as R2 is perfectly fine to me, feels good. i have no issues with the control sceheme in the game, the default camera does blow though, had to adjust it to my liking… the issues i have are the story (it blows) and how cheesy the cutscenes are, shit tries to be over the top and cool like DMC but it just comes off pretty lame at times to me, as i’m replaying this game im gonna just skip every cutscene… dont even care to see them like i did with DMC4, occasionally i even pop in DMC4 solely to watch the movie gallery sometimes because they are that awesome to me. another issue are the QTE’s, no one likes these things… if they make a sequal they need to get rid of those.

and yeah, the motorcycle and the missile levels were a bit too long but i have grown to like the missile level… it’s pretty easy to fly through once you’ve played it more than once.

i also wasnt too fond of any of the characters in Bayonetta… Bayonetta is an okay character but she just doesnt compare to the cool factor of Dante to me. i don’t think this game deserves as much praise as it’s getting. all in all the gameplay/combat in the game is pretty good but thats about it honestly.

I hear sales are tanking for this title right now.

Does anyone know if you can push forward+dodge to option select the parry? I haven’t had much luck with it but it could be awesome if it works.

Speaking of control set up, I don’t know how the fuck you all are pulling off the kilgore glitch combo while holding the left bumper for witch time. I tried that shit and could not do it at all. I either let go of LB or fuck up the combo.

Source?

I thought the game was doing pretty well.

What do you expect from the majority of close minded gamers that care about nothing but Halo and the 1001 same old FPS games. Anything creative that pushes the boundaries of design is perceived as horrible and shitty. This is why clover studios closed despite having some of the best games ever.

Well I didn’t expect the game to be bestseller, and I definitely expected Darksiders to outsell it.

but I didn’t think the game would bomb by any definition. I half expected clover to finally see some consumer success with this title

Actually, I think it has more to do with what I was talking about, with the PS3 owners “boycotting” the game for some self-righteous crusade (and then that guy arguing with me that that’s the right thing to do).

Anyway, I don’t have an official source. It’s just something I heard.

I finally got it right the other day after maxing out my magic bars, ended the chapter 2 boss fight with… like 3-5m halos
bought pillow talk and everything else in the shop, but i wanna try unlock everything else the normal way first

So for the unlockables, if you get them the “correct” way do you still have to spend halos to buy the unlocked item? I don’t mind unlocking some things properly but I am never interested in the “collect all the random hidden things” achievements that games have, so I don’t plan on hunting down the umbran tears of blood and whatnot.

Why are you holding the left bumper at all? Tha’ts the taunt button. You just need to do the slandered 4 P combo then hit K and mash it while flicking LT to switch to the rockets.

This is where you abuse several features to get insanity halos
Bracelet of Time = hold down L1 to go into witch time draining magic + auto taunt bracelet for higher points
spam the kilgore/druga swap combo to max combo on chapter 2 boss (basically a free kill doing this as you cant even get hit once) = 9999 x 9.9 combo score but in reality it goes far above this
After you run out of magic, you can still hold down L1 as you do it because of the way you gain magic from doing this combo too, so you keep going in and out of witch time to drag it out

I only did it once and got 3-5 million halos from the combo score

Meh, that is what Platinum gets for making a shitty port. I know they are advertising the game heavy, but it’s just a commercial of Bayonetta walking and that song playing. Show some footage of the game.
