Bayonetta demands Dante (DMC) to make her a sandwich. Patch fix available for PS3!

So, I rented Bayonetta today to see what all the hype was about… And… I fuckin’ love it. I will be buying this game cause it’s so much fun. Can’t wait to unlock more techniques and weapons.

I won’t try to tell you that you shouldn’t enjoy the port. But read Psychochild’s post where he talks about how bad the loading is. If you played the game before him, do you think you could tell him “it’s fine, it’s not bad enough for me to give up on” and then see him change his opinion? His opinion is no less second-hand to me than yours, and in fact he goes into much more detail about it. If an extreme DMC and Viewtiful Joe fan who gives massive praise to Bayonetta while playing through it the first time can’t forgive the loading and is driven to give up completing the PS3 version because of them, then I think I have pretty good reason to put stock in that because I was also planning on 100%ing the game with all characters, and I also love those same games. In comparison, I don’t think the people that argued against me here have gotten to that point, nor do we have enough common ground. If I’m wrong there, you can correct me.

Yeah but the difference you’re telling me I’m wrong.

Who knows? You might change your opinion once you start trying to get all Platinums. If I had played up to chapter 5 and you had beaten the game on Hard, and neither of us looked at anything but the PS3 version of the game, you would definitely be able to form a better opinion about everything than I would, because you would have more experience. And you do have more personal experience than I do - but considering all the circumstances, your personal experience can’t be more valid to me than his. Maybe you’re right - up to the point that you’re at, it might not suck. But for me to form my own opinion on everything, I would have to invest enough time and effort to get to that point, and I’d rather not get all the way to being prepared to get Platinums only to have to quit the game because of the lack of an install feature.

I am trying to platinum it right now and it doesn’t bother me so much that I wanna stop. You’re not making any fucking sense dude. I dunno dude the load times are like 45 seconds long they’re not that bad. I lean back on the couch, sip my drink and think about how I’m gonna tackle the next couple of fights. It’s not THAT big a fuckin a deal.

Shit I’m far more annoyed that I keep getting my ass kicked on Chapter 5 then I am about the stupid load times. That shits breather time to be quite honest with you.

Well, I hope you’re right. It would be good if the graphical issues aren’t so obvious on an SDTV, since I haven’t seen the 360 on it in over a week. It’s not like I want the port to suck, it’s just that no one has anything good to say about it, including the 360 version.

In this case I’m not trying to argue with you, but I can’t agree on “breather time”. I hate dying and having to wait to get back in the action, even in Viewtiful Joe where getting hit once and not recovering means you need to actually reset the game and reload everything again. Of course, that was my favorite game of all time.

Using Gaze of Despair and not using it is very noticable in terms of farming halos. As far as the parry window goes, it is true that you can mash a direction and get a parry out (or rather a repel is what the game calls it), getting a perfect parry (or a counter is what it’s called) is much more difficult; you have to do the input the moment you get hit, pretty much. The difference is that a repel just knocks the attack away and gives you one orb of magic, while a counter knocks back the attack, counters them for good damage, and puts you in witch time mode that lasts longer than a dodge or Bat Within.

It auto taunts enemies for you, meaning every enemy you come across will become enraged as though as if you’ve taunted them. Taunted enemies hit harder, attack faster and more frequently, and have boosted resilience to your attacks. The advantage is that you get a higher score multiplier from taunted enemies as opposed to regular ones.

Climax mode is a bitch chapter 2 took some time to finish because of Jeanne…

The fights with Jeanne are so damn fun and intense. It is interesting to notice when you have improved on that 2nd or 3rd time going through the game. I don’t think she even landed more than 2 or 3 hits on me last time, and the whole fight was like some super-speed Matrix-on-steroids greatness.

I had her dressed up in the nun outfit lately, but I just bought the swimsuit and cheerleader costumes today. The hotness of her being in a cheerleader uniform is off the damn scale. I really wouldn’t be able to handle it if the graphics were smoother in close-ups and there was also a few schoolgirl uniform variants thrown in there too. (*I’d put in the 2 main classics everyone knows-- american catholic schoolgirl, and the japanese “sailor moon” style look…tight socks only though; loose-socks version kinda sucks.)

new Angel Attack high score for me tonight–> 128. I think there were 3 or 4 of those special “Dears” I managed to get that time (the ones that only show up occasionally and are worth 10 points)

I cant believe I was one of the first people on this board making a big ass fuss about this game and didnt get it last week. My nuts need to be crushed then blown to bits by Bayonetta’s heel gun.

Im getting it tomorrow, I swear.

Nice AV!

Ahaha. Thanks. When I saw this picture I cracked open Photoshop with a smile on my face.

The faster you try to complete the game, the more you notice the loading and framerate issues on ps3 version, kind of annoying
oh well, got the bracelet, just need to get all the pearls, hearts, alfheims, bloods… then buy everything…then get plats… oh man, lots to go

I just got all platinum awards tonight. Gonna get the bracelet tomorrow.

I’m fucking addicted to this game. I was thinking about playing the whole time I was at work today. Right now I’m working on getting Sai-Fon/Sai-Fung. 100 damn chapters. I’m mad that the chapters you completed with the climax bracelet don’t count towards that. I’ve wasted at least 20 chapters because of that.

After I do all that I’ma start a Jeanne (God I hate how that is pronounced) playthrough. I heard she gets double the combo points so thats gonna make buying things a lot faster.

Well, the good news is that I think load times can be fixed via patch. I just don’t know if they’ll do it. Other than that, every other “issue” with the game is pretty much irrelevant.

Anyway, so far I’m not digging the enemies you have use Witch Time to hit. I don’t really like walking up and waiting for them to attack me. This isn’t Onimusha.

Gaze of Despair. Use it. Love it.

I can’t afford nice things like that. My newb ass is broke, yo.

Also, I love Onimusha. I just don’t like waiting around when I’m timed.

I sort of changed my whole Bayonetta play plan. First of all, Pure Platinum is out of the question. That **** aint happening, even on Normal. I refuse to be slowly driven crazy. Now, I am allowing myself a week to finish Hard, and then another week to finish NSIC. By then, No More Heroes 2 will be out. After about a week of playing that, I’ll go BACK to playing Normal for all PLATINUM to unlock Jeanne. And then… then I’ll be ready to retire for a while. If I return, it will be for an attempt at Platinum on Hard.
