Did you not see the flamethrowers and machine guns in the trailer? The vehicles?
Flamethrower by itself > a 100 CoD SMG’s and assault rifles that look, feel and sound almost identical.
CoD sales have been slowly declining it seems…why do you think they’re packing in CoD4 with this current release?

Reminds me of myself playing Modern Warfare, then hearing about the next CoD called Black Ops, set in the 60s.
Me: “60s??? WHY THE FUCK ARE WE GOING BACK??? WEAPONS WILL HAVE NO MODS, THERE WILL BE NO KILLSTREAKS LIKE THE CHOPPER GUNNER OR AC130!!! NO FUCKING LASERS, NO UAV, NO NOTHING!!!”
Then Black Ops came out, and it was the exact same fucking game but instead of the Chopper Gunner it was a different helicopter and instead of the UAV it was a spy plane and shit. Everything was accounted for and nobody looked back. One of my favorite guns came from BO, that 3 shot rifle thing, forgot the name, with the weird scope, since it was unique as fuck!
Same for BF1, I checked out some vids online about people talking about WW1 weaponry and you get some crazy ass experimental shit that I hope will be implemented in this game.
Now if you don’t like Battlefield games, that’s another story and I respect that, but if the only argument is “WW1 is not fun”, then I have nothing else to say.
I don’t even think the people complaining even bothered to watch the trailer.
Does a change in setting really change the game to any significant extent? Battlefield had games in different locales and timelines and changed little.

YAWN fests. There’s nothing exciting about old ANCIENT tech. Nothing.

I remember when Medal of Honor started the WW2 shooter craze. It’s how we got Call of Duty, Battlefield 1942, Brothers in Arms, Sniper Elite and just about really modern relevant FPS franchise we have now. When that got played out it moved on to modern warfare and every series followed suit. Now were on a sci-fi shooter craze and it’s only a matter of time until it gets played out too. WW1 is a refreshing change of pace considering it’s a setting that doesn’t get covered in games much.

Are people actually expecting this game to be like old WW2 games from like 10 years ago?
I’m reading this and it appears to me that people expect this game to have 3 guns per class, 1 nade, no sidearm and perhaps 1 vehicle per team.

I don’t know what’s up with your posts. Like, I know you aren’t trolling but the statements you make are really confusing. You make it seem as though WW1 was an era with just one or two guns. What about a 60$ dollar WW1 game is so preposterous? The era that it’s in? Do you KNOW the kind of weaponry that they used back then? So you’d rather not pay for a unique experience that is a WW1 game that we haven’t seen from any developer in quite a while as opposed to the paying for a game with almost the SAME exact setting we saw with CoD in AW, except there’s space battles?
Excited as shit for the WWI setting, definitely day 1 buy. I believe in dice taking care of this shit real good just how they did vietnam, which remains my favorite fps to this day.
I’m not ruling out BF1 being the first BF I’ll have owned since BF2. If it’s fresh and looks as good as that trailer (which I’d be skeptical about, but EA delivers some spectacular looking games), I might be on board. Especially given that Trey’s next COD won’t drop until 2018.
I expect everybody to just camp in their machine gun nests because everybody who doesn’t dies as soon as they start crossing no mans land.
I’m most interested in how Calvary and armor on the same battlefield will play out.

That would be a switch considering machine guns are usually one of the worst weapon classes outside the AR hybrids and tripods are god awful.

How about they do battlefield desert storm where one side gets apaches and tanks and the other side just drops their weapons and runs away whenever they try to shoot?
The beta is incredible. Even though it only has two game modes on the desert map, I can’t stop playing it. It’s also a beautiful game.
My experience with the beta isn’t so great. If you aren’t on a horse, in a tank, or holding a sniper rifle you won’t really get much done before one of those 3 completely destroys you.
Though I did do some action movie shit last night where I was in a sniper battle. Headshotted the guy, then whipped out my pistol and killed this dude trying to run me over with a truck and killed him before he got close enough to splat me.
Also team balancing is non existent. Played an entire game that was 5v28. GG
Loving the game, already have the ultimate edition preordered. Amazing graphics, Orgasmic sound and very solid BF gameplay.
Im using Assault and usually end in first place. Just run back and forward from C and D, cleaning out the houses. Using the Automatico.
My Battlefield moment so far:
You know that little house right next to the trail tracks by D? Right. So I’m in it and the enemy team has the train station right next to me, and it spots me. I’m standing in the corner by the window, facing the train, bullets flying right in front of my nose. The train is pounding, POUNDING THE FUCK outta the house, I have like 8 guys shooting straight at that window trying to get me with splash damage, but I live. This goes on for 10 seconds but it feels like an eternity.
What do I do?
I close the shutters of the house…
Of course it didn’t do shit, and I died seconds later, but it was so funny, I was laughing like crazy on the moment. Like you have this 100 ton fucking behemoth bombarding the fuck outta you and I close the shutters… as if that would do something, LoL! Maybe if the train dont see me, it cant shoot me, LoL! Man I was dead of laughter.
