Ugh…Watson
Well, I just got back from playing this more. I’ve got my Ashley strategy down, but I still have mucho problemos with Watson and his corner trap. Once he gets into the flow of things, it’s pretty unstopable. Parry high: Bear Trap. Block low:jump in bear trap. Reminds me of Pre-Full Konoha from Arcana. I shall press on to find the solution to this problem.

Bear Trap is not a low hit AFAIK. I’ve watched Coyori block it high so I don’t see what is causing so much issue there.
(Edit: Unless there is some weird fuzzy guard business going on, or maybe the EX version hits lot)

My only worry about this game is that supposly Watson has alot of potential in being broken. I hope this is nothing more than just a silly rumor or people just not finding out how to fight against the guy yet =/
WELL as I’ve mentioned, it seems the bear traps are not low hits at all, and I think more than likely it’s just people being confused about them that’s causing a lot of problems. Tricky thing is that he can use them as very good Oki and then mixup easily for a good combo and reset it all again. Even just watching the setups it looks like you could maybe Gatchi Drive out of them though …
I’m a bit worried about Watson too but I’m willing to bet most of what we’ve seen so far won’t be a big deal in the long run. Then again, he could be the next Eddie. :I

Next time you get a chance, give it a try so I can get a definitive answer on it. Also try and see if the super version is a low hit or not, if you can.
Regardless, Watson seems to definitely be one of the strongest simply because he has a very effective Okizemi game and has strong combos to go with it. He’s quite Millia like in usage it seems.
I’m also not sure what is up with those bubbles, I don’t see people ever block them so I’m wondering what is up with those.

Tier lists posted by some players… it seems that the general consensus is that Don breaks the game. It’s rare to see that, usually grapplers end up being bottom tier… it seems that Arc Sys are the only ones that know how to do 'em right lol.

are there any other characters with command throws? wouldnt that make them potentially really high tier too?
don is good just for having 3 times the HP of watson
I don’t really see the problem if everyone has a reversal move that beats the command throw. Sure it’s really silly, but that’s not really any different than Zangief in ST.
Arcsys is also notorious for leaving in tons of bugs in their games on purpose, and also making 1-2 characters intensionally broken.
Don having so much HP is kind of ridiculous considering the game isn’t exactly a high damage game to begin with.
