If this movie is as bad as it’s shaping up, it won’t even be ‘intoxicated’ enjoyable. Thanks to DC wanting to go all ‘dark’ and ‘gritty’, there won’t be neough comedic elements to turn it around.

I don’t mind that spoiler, but they would have to come up with some tomfoolery to pull it off.
And Aquaman’s trident is magical, no? It should be able to stab Superman, tbh.
You know all of this “spoiler” talk could be trolling or some type of misdirection.
I can see DC going “dark” and “gritty” to separate itself from the lightheartedness and comedy of Marvel’s films. They are throwing too much shit into this movie. Let Superman establish himself first before they throw everything and the kitchen sink in.
I was reading the last few comments, and im like, wtf, why is anyone mad at that spoiler. So i double checked with wikipedia to make sure i was right, and yeah, how is that, that extreme.
Doomsday was basically a science experiment gone crazy that would be a waste of time to fit into a plot. You have a kryptonian, who is already strong, and adapted to the yellow sun, just turn that bitch into doomsday, and wala. What are they gonna do, start man of steel 2 (or whatever movie they use doomsday in), off with, “250,000 years ago, an alien scientist did experiments on a human infant clone on prehistoric krypton to create doomsday. insert more time wasted on this then need be to get you to understand who doomsday is, even though you do not care”.
It makes much more sense to turn zod into doomsday if thats true, or you introduce him in man of steel 2 (or whatever movie) with no background, and have the whole crowd like, huh, who the fuck is this. Doomsdays background is barely relevent to who he is, which is a psychotic murdering machine that is stronger then superman for most people. Him being a science experiment gone rogue is not even worth wasting time on, when you can find more creative ways to introduce him imo.
I personally like dark and gritty, I dont go see comic movies for comedy. go watch 22 jump street or something
Yeah well I disliked the Nolan Batman’s because they were Dark and Gritty. It doesn’t have to be silly, but it felt ‘melancholy’. I don’t want to see ‘melancholy’.
As for Doomsday, he shouldn’t even be an OPTION for a villain anytime soon. I admit that my stanning is strong with doomsday because of when - Superman 75 came out when I was in 5th or 6th grade - the prime of my comic years, but have you read ‘The Death of Superman’? Did you see what he did to not just superman, but JLA in general? All the times I see Doomsday in a JL tv series or cartoon movie, he’s been devolved and weakened. IF they bring him to the movies, I need for him to REALLY FUCK SHIT UP like he was designed to. And I don’t want any caveats with Zod or some shit. They should actually do it like the comics.

When Doomsday first appeared, he punched out the ground, killed a deer if I remember, and started his rampage. There was no origin. He was just there to destroy, its what his name meant. Marvel’s success is tied to them no longer trying to ‘baby’ the audience. Yes they built up stuff over time, and - as we’ve argued - they’ve changed somethings around, but for the most part they’ve stuck ‘some what close’ to the source and instead of trying to explain everything in detail to the reader its “magic” if you will. Those who follow the comics get to geek out, the rest are just ‘whatever’. They don’t need to baby us with Doomsday origin. they could literally have him bust out the ground and start curb stomping mountain lions, at the end they could ask “where did he come from?”
To be fair, for this movie, they have the bones of what could be a successful premise if they dont’ shove too much in at once. The destruction caused from the first movie spurs agitation from Aquaman and Wonder Woman - I can work with that, but STOP THERE. No ‘manhunter’, don’t have Batman ALSO, stop trying to force JLA in one move, no more than TWO JL members should be tied together in this.
Oh well…maybe I’ll chase this movie with Batman & Robin…or I’ll just wait for Redbox like I did the past two Superman movies…

I expect comedy defending on the comic movie. Spider-Man and Iron man are funny guys. Their movies should have some comedy.
Nah, I don’t need him throwing up rainbows, but I’m not going to lie, I liked Batman 1 & 2 with Keaton - the most out of ANY of them. I understand the interest in Ledgars Joker, but I liked Jack’s better. It’s no shots, not saying anything was wrong with either, its just ‘my interest’, the more lighter side of things…not quite stupid like what happened with Batman after that…

The rebooted Batman was def ‘Batman’, and it was the dark and gritty aspect of Batman, and I’ve got no qualms about it, but then they tried to paint that same vibe to Superman…like he lived some miserable life and was a tortured soul. This is most likely going to be in that same vein. The problem with it though?
Avengers was FUN. You CHEERED when they came together and CapA gave commands. You cheered watching Hulk smash the ‘puny god’. When JL finally forms does anyone anticipate that same kind of moment? Will there be applause and excitement?
No. They’ll all look like sad puppies, Aquaman crying that his fish have coke bottle wrappers around their necks, Wonder Woman salty that all the guys want to give her the D, Batman just brooding, and Superman just looking lost and sad.

DC has to be embarrassed at the fact they can’t even give a decent Superman movie while Marvel made a group of basically unknowns into a HUGE hit. This movie will fail and it will be a hilarious fail.
I’m gonna call it: Doomsday vs everyone else and the final shot is Superman and gang in the justice league pose looking down at Doomsday while saying “this…is justice.”

If they wanted a dark and gritty Batman then why wouldn’t they use Nolan’s Batman? He’s already dark and gritty and established.
Nolan’s Batman won’t gel well with Man of Steel universe. Plus, Nolan is done with Batman and Bale won’t reprise without him on board.

Marvel movies seem to be able to mix everything into one great movie. GotG made me laugh, cry, cheer, and be amazed, all in one movie. DC is lucky to achieve one of those emotions in a movie.
Batman TAS was dark and gritty, but even they knew when to throw in comedy occasionally, or brighten shit up.
I don’t think most of you even know what dark and gritty means, you just view it as a buzzword that means “more batman” or something.
Just give me faithful fucking adaptations. Take creative liberties when needed (Marvel has gotten away with some doozies), but try to avoid fucking with the CORE’S of the characters. You can’t take Superman and let him kill people and ignore the lives of those around him, just like you can’t make Batman a killer. DC seems to change important fucking things, when they make their comic characters into cinematic ones (like Sinestro not making yellow rings, deadbeat dad Superman aka potential rapist Superman, retired Infinite mid-life Crisis Batman, etc).
Everything about this movie makes me terrified. It’s like watching two trains heading for each other, only both of them are full of DC properties. I have no doubt this movie will somehow find a way to get sequels made, a la Transformers, ignoring how poor it actually is. I can’t see this being a movie that doesn’t fill me with rage when I see it, crazy potential scenes not withstanding.
edit: and stop making every fucking batman movie into an attempt or allusion to DKR. Yeah, everybody wants to see Dark Knight Returns. So just fucking make it already. Gimme Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford and a fuckton of CGI. Make it accurate, and then STOP FUCKING SHOWING US OLD MAN BATMAN WHO WANTS TO RETIRE OR HAS RETIRED. We get it. You liked DKR. Old man Batman fighting brand new Superman literally makes zero fucking sense.
