I wouldn’t doubt Affleck gets his hands on that script before he directs the movie. The dude has an Oscar for writing Good Will Hunting. There’s no way he’d let a hack destroy a movie he’s directing.
I hope when they say “co-written by Ben Affleck” they mean “co-written by Kevin Smith”

Directors cut DD wasn’t that bad, and Kevin just championed Ben for the role.
I would just prefer somebody who has written a Batman comic, no matter the quality, as opposed to Ben Affleck.

Geoff writes good for the lantern and flash so he has the potential to write a good batman movie.

Geoff Johns can literally only write GL and Flash… Anyone else he touches is awful.

Affleck isn’t what’s wrong here. The guy might have never touched Batman but the guy has written and directed great movies. As oppose to John’s who’s never been involved in movies beyond being a consultant, has a history of writing Batman terribly and has mediocre TV credits to his name. He’s the problem.
Even those can be disputed. While he contributed a lot of great things to the Green Lantern mythos with the emotional spectrum and characters like Simon Baz, Saint Walker and Atrocitus he never actually developed Hal Jordan through any of it. He put the lanterns through event after event and Hal as a character remains the same through out. The supporting lanterns and Sinestro especially benefit for more than he did. Under his pen the guardians regressed into incompetent morons to make his stories work. The Guardians in GL runs before Johns wouldn’t have done dumb shit like the Alpha Lanterns and third army.
Johns first Flash run (Wally) focused more on the villains than it did Wally. The way he developed the Rouges were phenomenal but Wally wasn’t the focus of his own book under him. His run with Barry wasn’t great either. He give him a tragic origin for absolutely no reason and made him the one above all speedsters while still somehow failed to make Barry interesting.
