"Batman: Brave and the Bold" Cartoon Series on its way to Cartoon Network

Hey I’m just saying!

You know, I’m looking forward to this. It’s no Dark Knight, but there are many scenarios where Batman can fit. His voice is pretty good, the music is vintage, classy stuff, the animation is VERY fluid… it could be a very fun show, almost like a new, less retarded Teen Titans cartoon. Bring it on.

Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BAT MAN!

I counted the na’s just to make sure. You’re on point.

It’s on now

It’s a fun show for kids. I mean, it’s REALLY for little kids. But I’ll still watch it for the cameos.

It’s cool now that I have a voice in my head I can use for Blue Beetle whenever I read Teen Titans, he’s Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible AKA Eric from Boy Meets World, BRILLIANT! Will Friedle, who was also Terry’s voice in Batman Beyond. Andrea Romano needs like 1,000 Academy Awards for finding all of the voice talent she does for the WB. :lovin:

Oswald as Batman is going to take some major getting used to. He sounds exactly like Oswald and while I hear Batman, all I can picture is Oswald in the recording booth drinking Duff Beer oooh… :looney:

Heh, it’s like 60’s TV sitcom Batman that I grew up with, only minus Robin and yeah his Bat Belt has the answer for EVERYTHING only it’s more high tech. I laughed my ass off when he turned the belt into a sheath and pulled an energy sword out of it!

Good fun if you don’t take it too seriously or try to compare it to the previous Batman cartoons. For a kid’s show, way more entertaining than Krypto.

Well it’s funny, but can it surpass The Tick in comdey vaule. Oswald isn’t the voice actor’s real name It’s Diedrich Bader

edit: this is a list of all the voices he’s done

Jason Canmore ( Gargoyles)

Adonis ( Disney’s Hercules)

Warp Darkmatter ( Buzz Lightyear of Star Command)

Zee ( Batman Beyond)

Saber-Tooth Tiger ( Ice Age)

Zee ( The Zeta Project)

Lars ( Disney’s Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama )

Asterix and the Vikings ( Olaf )

Korgoth of Barbaria ( Korgoth)

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy ( Hoss Delgado)

Becker ( Disney’s Kim Possible )

Surf’s Up ( Tank Evans)

Screw Batman, its all about the DC characters in this one.
Plus doesn’t seem a bit too violent for a kids show? I mean Kanjar was doing some sick shit to those aliens, plus he killed the last Beetle.

Then aliens were cute in their manner of speaking and we didn’t actually see the former Beetle being killed, so that’s like saying Batman’s parents were killed in an episode without showing it. Kids can handle more than people give them credit. Compare this cartoon to BTAS or The Batman and it’s kind of obvious who the target audience is, IE an even younger audience then The Batman was going for.

It’s around the same age group as old TMNT series and The Tick.

What about Kanjar torturing Jaimie and sucking the life force out of the aliens? I mean that was just…EVIL!

I’ve seen far worse in your average edited filler Naruto episode. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm your right, Naruto fillers are torture themselves @_@

…but enough of this ridiculousness, JONAH HEX HYPE BABY!

don’t forget to mention that people are actually throwing around the word KILL a lot in that episode. I’ve never seen the word kill used EVER in the other shows i think.

The show looks like massive amounts of fun and at the same time it’s a nice sort of campiness. It also makes me laugh how batman has the answer to everything in his belt. I just hope he doesn’t keep any shark repellent batspray around

Tonight’s episode was great imo

After a long hiatus I’m back, hate this shitty economy…

Anyways I’ve been watching TBaTB and so far I enjoy it a lot, despite it’s obvious bend to appeal to kids, I find a lot of nods to the comic fan in the series. I mean which ten year old knows who the hell Gentleman Ghost or Kite-Man is? I watched the first episode with my kid brothers and they seemed to enjoy it for the action, while I appreciated the story and backdrop more. They did love Blue Beetle so I see Jamie getting popular with kids, like Pikachu big.

Tonight’s episode was SOOOO cool, I didn’t expect to see Gentleman Ghost, and his portrayal was cool. Plastic Man, one of my favorite heroes ever, was spot on and great. His fight scenes were characterful, and I’m hoping he returns in the future.

So far it’s a fun show, my only beef is the different era costumes that seem to be around. Take the first episode for example, we got the early look for Green Arrow and then the new Blue Beetle instead of Ted Kord. While I didn’t expect it to follow comic accuracy at all,the right costumes would have been cool. Liberal, goatee GA would have gone over so well with kids!

Oh yeah, and I lol’d at Grodd’s human form.

I think the shows obviously skewed towards younger audiences than say, Justice League or Justice League Unlimited, but so far it’s pretty enjoyable.

I was watching it with my younger brother who is receptive to comics but doesn’t read them. (I.E. He loved Justice League and Unlimited, thinks the characters are cool etc) But for someone who doesn’t read comics, he had no idea who the new Blue Beetle was, why he had a scarab on his back, etc. I know that they can’t be giving a full origin every episode, but I think they could do with just a tad of exposition.

I had a question since I only saw the last episode from the halfway point, it seems as if they say that Plastic Man used to be Kite-man before getting reformed. Is this just something they did for the show? (I could be wrong as I only saw half the episode.) I mean I am not the biggest buff on Plastic Man, and I knew he was a criminal, but I’m rather certain he isn’t Kite-man.
