Bat top vs ball top

I started with a ball top and moved to a bat top and I like the bat top more. My first stick I broke trying to mod it (derp) so I was forced to buy a new one and I found a TE stick on ebay that a guy modded (bat top, new buttons, custom but generic background design) for $70 and I figured what the hell I would try a bat top and could always replace it with the ball top of my old TE if I wanted too.

After about a week I realized how much more a bat top was comfortable for me because of how I grip the stick. I put the base in between my ring and middle… my index and thumb control the top for a little extra precision I found.

I didnt really have an issue with the ball top. I just find the bat top slightly better for how I grip it.

Hey guys, on the subject of bat top, I have a question on the installation part. I have recently switched my balltop to sanwa battop (with the Joystick Adapter) for SF IV TE round II fightstick, however after a few rounds of SSF4 AE, my bat top was loosen up and almost came off. I’ve tried to tighten it, but it only last for a few more rounds. Does anyone have this issue or is this a standard issue? Any tips on how to fix this?

I got a MAS and the battop wasnt the problem, the p360 gate was :frowning: i cant do motions on a circle gate, so i had to put a jlf with an octo gate in. it looks funny, but im way better on it.

also, my stick is made of wood not metal, so the buttons make a sexy clack instead of that weird springy hollow sound TE buttons make

I had a similar problem, what I did was, used a few drops of glue (Locktite or similar) on the threads…but not too much, so you can still get it off if needed.

Also, you can consider using something like teflon tape (used in plumbing for threaded connections)…
